Job Description:

The DEEPT Product Team is looking for a results-driven Sr Product Manager II with deep expertise in personalization and experimentation to join our dynamic News & Entertainment product team. This critical role sits at the intersection of technology, content, and user experience, focusing on world-class digital experiences for Disney’s news and entertainment brands. The ideal candidate is collaborative, passionate about UX, self-directed, curious about marketplace trends, and has demonstrated an ability to build and support market-leading digital products.    

  

The News & Entertainment product team is responsible for building the next generation of news and entertainment experiences for all digital platforms. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with colleagues across engineering, design, and data science, as well as editorial and business stakeholders to launch new features and coordinate ongoing support for existing experiences. You will drive product personalization strategies by collaborating with machine learning teams, managing experiments, enhancing technical tools, and advocating users to improve the user experience and revenue potential of our digital offerings. You will be supported in personal and professional growth through ongoing learning, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, and be a part of a culture that values diversity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Personalization & Machine Learning Product Strategy: 

  • Collaborate closely with our advanced machine learning team to define, deliver, and scale next-generation personalized experiences across News & Entertainment products.  

  • Translate complex ML frameworks into actionable strategies that drive user engagement, retention, and satisfaction. 

  • Prioritize and communicate opportunities to enhance content recommendations and dynamic experiences. 

Experimentation & Data-Driven Decision Making 

  • Manage all stages of A/B and multivariate testing, selecting key use cases that align to OKRs and user needs, designing test plans, and tracking metrics to ensure statistical significance 

  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform hypotheses, validate business impact, and champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

Executive Storytelling: 

  • Develop strategic narratives that combine qualitative and quantitative data to convey ideas with clarity, influence decision-making, and deliver meaningful improvements at scale. 

  • Champion a user-centric mindset, balancing empathy for diverse audiences with a rigorous approach to complex product challenges. 

Technical Tool Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Lead the adoption and enhancement of personalization and experimentation tools, working across teams to introduce new features, streamline workflows, and enhance product delivery. 

Basic Qualifications  

  • 7 years or more experience in product management, with a proven track record in experimentation, A/B testing, and personalization—preferably for digital content, news, entertainment, or streaming products. 

  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience with experimentation platforms and data analytics tools. 

  • Familiarity with applied machine learning frameworks and best practices for recommendation systems and content personalization. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization, driving consensus and delivering results. 

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complexity and deliver pragmatic solutions. 

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels and translating technical concepts for diverse audiences. 

  • Passion for news, entertainment, or media and creating transformative user experiences at scale. 

 

Required Education   

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, business, media or a related field from a four-year accredited college or university

The hiring range for this position in New York City, NY is $163,100 to $218,700 per year and in Santa Monica, CA is $155,700 to $208,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
