Job Title: Sr. Product Manager
Team: Product
Location: Onsite - Sawtelle (Between Santa Monica & West LA)
Employment Type: Full-time, Salary, Exempt
Reports To: SVP of Product & Technology
About Plug
Plug is the marketplace for used electric vehicles. Consumers get an instant cash offer backed by battery-health data, and dealers across the US bid in real time on that inventory. Former Tesla executives founded Plug in 2023. We’ve facilitated $150M in EV sales and raised a $20M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Why Plug
You’ll own a piece of the biggest infrastructure opportunity in automotive.
You’ll work on a platform built exclusively for EVs, with nothing adapted from legacy automotive.
You’ll be part of an AI-native company. We’re rethinking how work gets done at a fundamental level.
You’ll work directly with operators who have scaled multi-billion dollar businesses in automotive, EV, and marketplaces.
You’ll have real ownership, high autonomy, and a direct line to company outcomes.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own a core surface of Plug’s platform end to end. You will report to the SVP of Product and Technology.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You will own your surface end to end, paired closely with an engineer, operating with high agency. You form a hypothesis, run the test, and come back with a result. You will not wait on a committee or a process. Most of the value you create will come from how fast and how rigorously you learn.
You will be stepping into a small, talented team with real momentum and a platform built exclusively for EVs. This is a foundational role, and you’ll have real latitude to shape how the product works.
What You’ll Do
Own an end-to-end product surface, from the user-facing experience through the metrics that define success, and continuously drive improvement.
Design and run A/B tests and post-hoc analysis independently, using session replays, customer discovery, and data, without needing to pull in engineering for every experiment.
Partner closely with engineering, translating complex requirements into clear specs and a clean user experience.
Partner across functions (marketing, ML, sales, operations, and finance, as relevant to the surface) so the product reflects real user needs and business goals.
Build reliable, scalable systems that internal and external stakeholders can trust.
Define and own the metrics that matter for your surface, and report on them clearly.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years in product management, with a track record of owning and measurably improving a product surface or conversion funnel.
Deep fluency in experimentation. You design tests, own the analysis, and ship decisions fast, with the data to back them.
Comfortable operating at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and other functions, with a keen eye for user experience.
Hands-on, shipped experience building with AI tools. As part of the process, we will ask you to show us something you have built.
Builder mentality: you act, you do not just plan, and you are energized by broad ownership in an environment where roles are fluid and the lines between product, engineering, and design are blurring.
Strong communication skills, able to write clearly and influence cross-functionally.
Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
Prior experience in automotive, EV, marketplace, or fintech systems is a plus.
What Sets You Apart
Experience with two-sided marketplaces or high-volume transactional funnels, owning both supply and demand sides.
You use AI daily in your product craft and are expanding your capabilities with AI tools.
Strong track record in B2B SaaS working directly with enterprise or OEM partners, where the customer relationship drove the value you created.
Platform and API product fluency, including designing and exposing internal APIs to external partners.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary: $180,000 to $200,000

Where an individual’s actual offer falls within that range depends on a combination of factors, including relevant experience, specialized skills, training and qualifications, current business needs, and prevailing market conditions.
