About Vendr

Vendr is transforming how companies buy software. We've built the largest SaaS pricing database and a team of expert negotiators who have saved customers over $1.6 billion. Now we're building Ruth—an AI agent that lets procurement teams cover 10x more spend without adding headcount.

Our thesis: AI promised. Ruth delivers.

Headquartered in Boston, MA with a second location in Charleston, SC, join Vendr and cultivate your career in a culture of growth, innovation, and kindness while collaborating with the brightest minds in tech.

The Role

We're looking for a Product Manager who has actually built software. Not just written specs—built things. You have opinions about component libraries, you've pushed commits, and you understand why engineers make the tradeoffs they make.

You're AI native. Not "interested in AI" or "experimenting with ChatGPT." You use Claude, Cursor, or similar tools daily. You think in prompts. You've built workflows with AI that would have been impossible two years ago. You can't imagine working any other way.

You'll own critical parts of our customer-facing platform—from how customers interact with Ruth to the tools our team uses internally. You'll work alongside engineers who are shipping faster than ever because they're AI-native too, and your job is to keep them unblocked with crisp requirements, fast decisions, and an eye for detail that catches issues before they ship.

What You'll Own
  • Customer experience: The interface where customers submit negotiations, track deals, and interact with Ruth
  • Agent workflows: How Ruth collects information, generates strategies, and executes negotiations
  • Internal tooling: You'll use RuthRadar, our homegrown PM tool that ingests customer calls, extracts feature requests using AI, and manages our product pipeline—all built on MCP (Model Context Protocol). You'll help evolve it as you use it.
  • Quality bar: Details matter. You'll catch the edge cases, inconsistent states, and UX paper cuts that erode trust
What We're Looking ForYou’ve led the building of software.
  • You have taste in design—you notice when spacing is off, when interactions feel sluggish, when copy doesn't land
  • You can read a codebase and understand what's happening
  • Our stack is React-based (Remix, Next.js) and you're comfortable in that world
You're AI native.
  • AI tools are part of your daily workflow, not a novelty
  • You've built things with LLMs—agents, automations, or products
  • You understand prompting, context windows, and why AI products feel different to build
  • You're excited that our engineering team uses Claude Code and ships features in hours that used to take weeks
You unblock fast-moving teams.
  • You thrive when engineers are moving faster than the spec
  • You make decisions quickly with incomplete information
  • You write requirements that are clear enough to build from, not 40-page PRDs
  • You're in Slack, in Figma, in the code—wherever you need to be to keep things moving
You sweat the details.
  • You notice inconsistencies others miss
  • You test edge cases before QA does
  • You care about the craft of the product, not just shipping features
Why Vendr
  • Real AI products: Ruth runs actual negotiations backed by $15B in pricing data. This isn't a wrapper.
  • AI-native engineering: Our team ships with Claude Code, MCP integrations, and tools we build ourselves. You'll be part of that culture.
  • Small team, big leverage: ~50 people, Series B. Your decisions ship in days, not quarters.
  • RuthRadar: Our internal PM tool that uses AI to synthesize customer feedback. You'll use it daily to stay close to what customers actually need.
  • Competitive Compensation: We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Growth Opportunities: Be part of a dynamic and growing team with numerous career advancement opportunities.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Enjoy the convenience and work-life balance that comes with flexible/remote work.
  • Inclusive Team: We value diversity and promote an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
How We Work
  • Fully remote, US-based
  • Async-first with focused sync time
  • Weekly product demos—Ruth doesn't sleep, and neither does our shipping cadence

The estimated base salary range for this position is $145,000 to $220,000.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
