At Obie, we don’t just insure properties — we ensure progress. With advanced technology, real-time data, and a vast network of agents and partners, we help real estate investors and landlords get insurance coverage whenever and wherever they need it. Thousands of owners nationwide trust us to be the insurance experts, so they don’t have to be.

Joining our team means embracing a fast-moving environment driven by innovation, collaboration, and constant progress. We learn quickly, iterate often, and celebrate wins together. If you're passionate about driving change and eager to impact the real estate and insurance market, Obie is the place for you.

Our Chicago based employees are hybrid, and expected to be in office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Brief Summary of Role

We are seeking a strong individual contributor to join our growing insurance product team as an Insurance Sr Product Analyst focused on developing and executing strategic plans for profitable growth.

Those successful in this role will have a strong knowledge in the property insurance space, a passion for delivering new products, and utilizing insurance expertise to solve challenges. Additionally, you’ll be self-motivated and directed. An ability to collaborate is a must, but you will be autonomous and expected to succeed without heavy direction and being an expert.

What you'll Do:

  • Assist the insurance product managers in developing and implementing rate revisions, state expansion, and product development plans that enable Obie to meet our goals.
  • Leverage analytical and communication skills to collaborate across teams to develop insurance products and services.
  • Assist in completing competitive market analysis including forms comparison, product offerings and comparisons, and monitoring competitor state changes.
  • Improve the products using contract language, underwriting guidelines and manuals, and technology enhancements.
  • Partner closely with Technology Product and Engineering teams to articulate, develop, and validate technology features and enhancements.
  • Use customer and data insights from the market, our sales funnel, competitors, and claims to inform insurance product development.
  • Enhance tools, processes, and frameworks to bring insurance products to market.

What you'll Bring:

  • 3+ years working in a property insurance product management role.
  • We are looking for someone who has experience with several of the following:
  • Rate indication analysis, competitive monitoring, forms development, underwriting knowledge, business case development, start-ups, MGA’s, and non-admitted lines.
  • Knowledge of insurance product management principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience researching competitor products, developing and enhancing product/contract language and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate performance across various products and segments.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels across the company.
  • Ability to succinctly communicate results and recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to explain business logic to technical and non-technical team members.
  • Positive “can do” attitude and a desire to contribute to a growing, energetic work environment.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage time effectively.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
