Scripps News is seeking a Senior Producer who will be responsible for managing all pre-production and daily production of assigned show(s), with a focus on live and modular content and serving as an editorial leader for Scripps News.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Oversee planning and production of live and/or modular content across broadcast and digital platforms.

  • Serve as an editorial leader — set daily editorial priorities, exercise exceptional news judgment, and ensure accuracy, fairness and standards compliance across all segments.

  • Work closely with Director of Live Content and Director of Modular Content to execute content strategy, align story selection, pacing and platform distribution.

  • Oversee guest booking and segment building

  • Manage rundowns and segment timing; communicate creative and timing needs to producers and production teams.

  • Collaborate with other Producers and directors to develop programming, special segments and modular content.

  • Oversee execution of live and modular segments — manage in-studio elements, talent stand-ups, live guest logistics, remote feeds and graphics including on-screen text or banners.

  • Ensure guest readiness and briefing; confirm legal/standards clearance and fact-checking for on-air content.

  • Manage content flow with other Senior Producers and Directors to maintain timing, transitions and platform integration (broadcast + digital).

  • Troubleshoot live production issues quickly and communicate changes to production staff and talent.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 8+ years’ experience in television news or broadcast journalism, including significant live production experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Exceptional news judgment and editorial leadership.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable directing producers, bookers, directors and on-air talent.

  • Proven ability to manage live production logistics and complex rundowns.

  • Experience with guest booking, segment building and vetting.

  • Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • May require weekend hours, irregular hours, early mornings, evenings and occasional travel.
