The Impact of a Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Analytics at Coupa:

The Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Analytics & Data will serve as an architect and visionary leader, responsible for the overall design, strategy, and implementation of our analytics and data platform. This role will encompass all aspects of data engineering, analytics applications, and infrastructure, driving innovation, scalability, and performance across the entire ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

  • Define and lead the architecture and strategy for Coupa’s analytics and data platform, ensuring scalability and business alignment.
  • Design and implement robust, high-performance data pipelines, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and access.
  • Oversee development of advanced analytics tools, including interactive visualizations and user-centric data applications.
  • Establish best practices for data modeling, orchestration, monitoring, and governance across all initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and drive innovation through cutting-edge technologies in big data, cloud, and AI/ML.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver secure, scalable solutions, optimizing Spark clusters, APIs, and data warehouse infrastructure.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • 15+ years of experience in Data and Software Engineering within B2B SaaS, including leadership and architectural roles.
  • Deep expertise in big data (Spark, Kafka), cloud platforms (AWS), and orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi).
  • Proven track record in architecting large-scale data platforms, cloud-native analytics solutions, and high-performance data pipelines.
  • Strong background in SQL, NoSQL, database optimization, and building API-driven microservice architectures (REST, GraphQL).
  • Skilled in AI/ML applications for predictive analytics, data harmonization, and classification at scale.
  • Effective technical leader and mentor with a strong focus on data governance, quality, and cross-functional collaboration.

The estimated pay range for this role is $190,400 - $269,500

The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
