Northrop Grumman is seeking a Chief Software Dev Engineer to work with the 705 Combat Training Squadron (CTS) Infrastructure, Development and Engineering (IDE) program to develop and maintain simulation software (SW) and hardware (HW) solutions, build, and maintain network infrastructure, design, and develop simulation SW applications, and evolve and conduct Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities for the 705 CTS and Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC).

In the context of the 705 CTS IDE, this position is responsible for the design and sustainment of the environment for High-Availability and Data Recovery. Create virtual machine templates, resource pools and assignment of shares. Assist with development of disaster recovery plans. Work with Storage Area Networks (SANs), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Direct Attached Storage (DAS). Work with both VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization technologies and Windows Server architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience with 9 years of related software development experience, 7 years with a Masters Degree and PHD and 4 years experience.

 -AND- shall have the following relevant expertise:
- Experience performing systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Experience with adaptive and hybrid development processes highly desired (sprint planning, scrum, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
- Deep knowledge of C++ required, Qt and Python required. - Experience with code revision repositories such as git, mercurial, or subversion.
- Experience with full-stack web development - Broad experience with software system end-to-end development, testing, automation, and deployment.
- Significant experience resolving complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design issues.
- Experience providing technical leadership to a software team, providing strategic vision, guidance, and solutions. - Experience managing a software team, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and reports.
- Experience delivering research, design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-wide systems and applications software that meets the product specifications and schedules. - Collaborates with system engineers on characteristics that affect software systems.
- Writes and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training manuals.
 -AND- Within 3 months of hire, be able to achieve Information
Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II and shall maintain certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M continuing education program (CPE) through the Period of Performance of the contract.

-AND- Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

-Multi-platform development in Linux AND Windows experience preferred.
Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP/SAR eligibility highly desirable. 

Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
