The Senior Principal Inside Sales Representative is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving significant revenue growth, managing complex strategic opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers, field sales teams, and internal stakeholders. This role leads high-impact sales initiatives, develops account penetration strategies, and influences business outcomes through deep industry knowledge, strong customer relationships, and disciplined opportunity execution.
The Senior Principal ISR is expected to identify and accelerate large-scale opportunities, and help with target account strategies. This individual partners closely with Account Executives, Technical Specialists, Business Development, Marketing, and Sales Leadership to maximize pipeline generation, forecast accuracy, and revenue attainment. This position is a newer role within the Systems Products Inside Sales Team at Cadence. You will be responsible for engaging with prospects and customers across multiple Cadence products including PCB design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), RF/Microwave, Signal and Power Integrity, and other CAE workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth across assigned strategic accounts and territories.
- Develop and execute comprehensive account and opportunity plans.
- Identify, qualify, and advance complex sales opportunities through the entire sales cycle.
- Build executive-level relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Lead territory planning, whitespace analysis, and pipeline development initiatives.
- Maintain forecast accuracy and provide clear visibility into business risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with field sales, technical teams, and business units to align customer solutions with business objectives.
- Champion SFDC discipline, sales process adoption, and best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert for products, solutions, competitive positioning, and target markets.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent sales experience.
- 4+ years of successful B2B sales, inside sales, account management, or business development experience.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience managing large, complex enterprise opportunities and multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Exceptional account planning, opportunity management, forecasting, and pipeline development skills.
- Strong executive presence with excellent presentation, consultative selling negotiation, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business outcomes without direct authority.
- Proficiency with SFDC systems, Microsoft Outlook, Copilot, forecasting tools, and sales analytics.
- Experience selling SaaS, EDA, semiconductor, or engineering software solutions.
- Industry experience preferred relating to: Cadence, OrCAD, Virtuoso, Ansys, Altium, Siemens Mentor Graphics, Solidworks, PTC OnShape
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability.
The annual salary range for California is $150,000 to $200,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
