About the Team/Role

The Senior Pricing Analyst is a high-impact, hybrid leader serving as the strategic architect of WEX’s most strategic and complex pricing networks.  Operating at the intersection of Commercial Risk Operations, Product, and Technology, this role acts as the primary subject matter expert to ensure pricing functionality is scalable, technically sound, and aligned with enterprise-wide objectives. 

 

As a trusted advisor and escalation point, you will move beyond traditional analysis to drive operational excellence by proactively identifying technical gaps and advocating for automated, data-driven solutions. In an environment where pricing functions may be siloed, you will serve as a critical bridge builder—translating complex business needs into actionable insights for internal stakeholders while mitigating financial risk and enhancing the merchant experience. Success in this role requires a "systems-thinking" approach to identify recurring themes, influence cross-functional roadmaps, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable economic gain.

 

How you'll make an impact

INNOVATION & SYSTEMS ADVOCACY

  • Proactively identify and embrace opportunities to integrate AI and automation technologies into operational processes. 

  • Act as a strategic consultant to Product and Technology teams, ensuring that new platform enhancements align with complex pricing logic and long-term scalability.

  • Drive initiatives to drive scale, reduce reliance on manual processes, and mitigate operational risks.

  • Advocate for enterprise-wide pricing functionality by translating operational gaps into technical requirements for cross-functional roadmaps.

ISSUE INVESTIGATION + RESOLUTION

  • Lead complex issue investigation and resolution across technical, product, and billing workstreams.

  • Manage communications of such issues across broad internal stakeholder groups and external constituencies. 

  • Analyze recurring themes and  red flags to drive systemic improvements, shifting from manual fixes to performance technical or process re-engineering.

  • Own, develop and implement creative solutions to improve internal and external client satisfaction.

  • Serve as a change agent for continuous improvement, applying strategic thinking, innovation and process re-engineering, to day to day activities. 

AUDITING:

  • Ensures compliance with established internal control and develop new controls if gaps are identified

  • Mitigate levels of financial risk as it relates to service levels and compliance

  • Identify if and where technical or processes are failing and advise on systemic changes to be made.

  • Ensure procedures, policies, and contracts are correctly followed and complied with.

  • Work with staff to ensure they are operating within SOX/SSAE Audit compliance. 

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Provide world class customer service to cornerstone clients.

  • Identify and exceed the needs of the organization and clients through collaboration, strategic outreach.

  • Partner with the Sales, Marketing and Relationship Divisions to maximize and grow pricing networks in a manner that is cost-effective and scalable.

  • Collaborate with internal parties to ensure solutions are designed to the maximum benefit of WEX’s technical ecosystem.

  • Demonstrate well-polished and proficient presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

REPORTING & ACTIONABLE INSIGHTS

  • Deliver monthly reporting to a broad audience including finance, risk and sales management.

  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. 

  • Present actionable insights to leadership and partners to inform business decisions.

  • Pull data from various systems and applications to create a cohesive presentation to educate both customers and internal stakeholders. Ensure compliance with established internal controls and develop new controls if gaps are identified. 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP

  • Lead complex partner initiatives and enterprise-level projects, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with business goals. 

  • Drive project deliverables that identify efficiencies gained, system enhancements, and economic gain based on overall objectives. 

  • Lead UAT –User Acceptance Training for new platforms/technical enhancements ensuring business use cases are accurately reflected in technical deployments.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement enhancements to partner programs.

TRAINING & MENTORSHIP

  • Assist with staff training to ensure operational excellence. 

  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and work with staff to close them.

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to educate internal stakeholders on available functionality to drive organizational bench strength and advocate for functionality to drive increased scale.

Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related fields. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated project management capabilities

  • Results driven, action orientated and self-motivated

  • Superior critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills

  •  Flexible and adaptable to change

  • Ability to collaborate with and be influential at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent time management, prioritization skills, goals setting, planning and work scheduling skills. 

  • Technical proficiency in data extraction and analysis tools to support systemic issue investigation.Must successfully pass a background investigation.

  • Direct experience with WEX-specific pricing platforms and internal settlement logic.

  • Experience translating complex business/financial requirements into functional specifications for Product and Tech teams.

  • Experience with the identification and execution of process improvement initiatives, using process improvement methodologies.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to ascertain information and maintain dialogue with multiple teams.

  • Proven ability to navigate and influence in a matrixed organizational structure.

  • Ability to effectively and calmly operate within a complex and changing environment.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiencies within department and self 

  • Solid presentation skills


 
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
