The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle 19c SQL Developer & Database Administrator to support the Aviation Cost Evaluation System (ACES). This role is hands-on and requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a remote, team‑oriented environment. You will support large Oracle database environments, develop and maintain complex database objects, and ensure the integrity, performance, and security of ACES systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle 19c database architecture, schemas, and objects.

  • Perform analysis and design of business applications for large-scale Oracle systems.

  • Create and modify stored procedures, packages, queries, views, functions, triggers, and tables in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Manage Oracle installation, patching, maintenance, security configurations, privileges, and data integrity controls.

  • Compile schemas, create synonyms and permissions, and apply Oracle software patches as required.

  • Conduct quality assurance testing and review work products for accuracy and adherence to design standards.

  • Perform advanced data manipulation using modern storage and retrieval techniques.

  • Document all database activities, including ERDs, flowcharts, specifications, and updates.

  • Ensure Oracle STIG compliance across development and data servers.

  • Communicate technical issues, updates, recommendations, and reports clearly across organizational levels.

  • Lead small groups and manage multiple tasks in a hands-on technical environment.

  • Learn ACES functional concepts, business processes, and practical use of all ACES applications.

  • Support software applications hosted on servers interfacing with Oracle databases.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Strong Oracle SQL development background supporting large, complex Oracle RDBMS environments.

  • Experience designing and developing database architecture and objects in Oracle 19c.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage Oracle databases, instances, security tasks, indexing, and data integrity.

  • Proven experience supporting software applications that interact with Oracle databases.

  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Oracle database designer and developer (DDL/DML).

  • Minimum 7 years of Oracle database management experience, including installation, patching, security, data integrity, and import/export operations.

  • Oracle Database Administrator certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional training.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting Naval Aviation Oracle RDBMS environments.

  • Ability to lead small technical teams and manage complex tasks independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized work style.

This role is part of a fully remote, high‑performing team and requires someone who is highly organized, self‑sufficient, and able to manage responsibilities independently. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, communicates proactively, and consistently responds in a timely manner. Because the team operates without the capacity for micromanagement or extensive training, we are seeking a senior‑level professional who can take ownership of complex tasks, anticipate needs, and drive work forward without waiting for step‑by‑step direction. Secret-level clearance required prior to hire.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
