Sr Mgr. Technical Product Management

Job summary:

As the Senior Manager of Technical Product Management, you have the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare by delivering groundbreaking products that empower patients to make life-changing choices. Our genetic screening and testing services enable individuals to gain actionable insights, guiding them toward critical and timely healthcare decisions through advanced molecular diagnostic tests in women’s health, oncology, and pharmacogenomics.

In this role, you will inspire and guide a talented team of Technical Product Owners (POs) to define and deliver exceptional digital products that transform patient and clinician experiences. You’ll champion innovation, foster collaboration, and drive alignment with our overarching business strategy and user needs—all while embracing Agile methodologies. With your leadership, POs will optimize backlog management, nurture stakeholder relationships, and leverage key product performance metrics to drive continuous improvement, ensuring every release delivers maximum value and quality.

Our digital portfolio features innovative custom portals for clinicians and patients, along with seamless EMR integrations. In addition to helping maximize the value of this portfolio, you’ll have the chance to set new standards and drive excellence in process and playbook practices—shaping the way we plan, manage backlogs, and map user stories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Guide, mentor, and oversee a team of Digital Product Owners, cultivating an environment focused on innovation and agile best practices.

· Establish standardized processes for backlog grooming, user story mapping and creation, as well as requirements gathering, to optimize efficiency.

· Convert broad business strategies into actionable product roadmaps, maintaining alignment across multiple product teams.

· Track and enhance key performance indicators such as backlog runway, customer satisfaction, turnaround time, Say/Do ratio, and cycle time.

· Act as an internal proponent for the core positioning and messaging of the Portfolio, utilizing your expertise in commercial and digital matters.

· Collaborate with senior and executive business stakeholders to identify their priorities, business objectives, future plans, and constraints, informing roadmaps and effectively managing resource limitations and competing demands.

· Function as an organizational leader with responsibility for direct reports.

Requirements

1. Over five years of experience in product management or ownership, complemented by proven leadership or mentoring capabilities.

2. Demonstrated expertise with externally facing digital portals.

3. Industry experience in Healthcare is preferred, particularly within Biotech, Clinical Laboratories, or Precision Medicine.

4. Thorough understanding of Agile frameworks, including Scrum, and familiarity with tools such as Jira.

5. Exceptional business partnership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management across technology departments and various business units.

6. An innovative and solutions-oriented leader who cultivates a team environment founded on curiosity, camaraderie, and ongoing improvement.

7. Experience developing technology solutions in regulated industries—such as healthcare, banking, or government—is highly advantageous.

8. Bachelor's degree or higher required.

Applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder) living full time in the USA

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
