The Senior Materials Manager manages supply chain activities, inventory planning, purchasing, and process improvements while leading the materials team to execute best practices and KPIs.
Fluidra is seeking a Senior Materials Manager to join the team at our SR Smith location in Portland, TN.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Senior Materials Manager is responsible for managing the planning, execution, control, and supervision of supply chain activities with the objectives of creating net value and building a competitive infrastructure. Additionally, you will:
- Establish Raw Materials inventory planning systems and processes
- Setup formal process for supplier lead times, MOQ’s, other planning elements
- Monitors and measure PO activities such as PO submission, tracking deliveries, on time supplier performance, and exception signals (expedite, pull in, push out)
- Responsible for the Purchasing cycle of Raw and MRO materials
- Develop and implement efficient receiving processes
- Partner with Sourcing to improve inventory turns and Inventory management
- Establish and manage inventory policies – raw materials and Finished Goods
- Partner with teams to support New Product Development and Value Improvement Processes
- Set up a Warehouse material flow system (Kanban, Min Max, Lot by Lot), implement warehouse location system which allows the material to be easily identified.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering to develop production line material handling and inventory processes
- Establish and implement Cycle Counting processes and procedures
- Train Materials team on inventory transaction and management processes
- Lead Materials Team in executing Epicor systems for materials management
- Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action
- Works directly with Demand Management and Logistics to determine the most cost-effective distribution solution for finished goods transportation to customers.
- Leads the materials team in executing best practices and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure performance.
- Collaborate with Logistics team to find transportation companies to set best routes, rates, best practices, and freight consolidation.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the materials provision.
WHAT WE SEEK

- Experience working with, and understanding of MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Epicor
- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Critical thinking and Problem-solving expert
- Experience leading and developing new personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management experience
- APICS CPIM Certification or training preferred
- Leadership training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk around; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Lifting of equipment under test and associated support equipment will also be required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distinguishing colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus clearly
- Travel is required (min 25%)
