The Role

Cruva is the operating system for brands selling on TikTok Shop. We work with 1,400+ DTC brands, from multi-seven-figure to nine-figure operations, running their affiliate programs, creator relationships, sample seeding, payouts, and GMV attribution at scale. We are doing multi-millions in ARR, profitable, bootstrapped, and growing several-fold in 2026.

This is Cruva's first dedicated marketing hire, reporting directly to our CEO, Sebastian. You will own how Cruva shows up in public: newsletter, case studies, social channels, our quarterly report, and brand moments. Sebastian owns marketing strategy, the founder voice, agency relationships, and the demand generation and sales motion. You make the brand visible and consistent every week.

If you have been a content lead at a creator-economy SaaS, an influencer or creator agency, an ecommerce growth agency, or a creator-led DTC brand, this seat will feel familiar.

What You'll Do
  • Cruva newsletter. Own the editorial calendar, draft each issue, ship on cadence, and grow the list.

  • Customer case studies. Interview the brands and creators behind our largest customer wins and develop them into substantive stories that operators in the space share with each other.

  • Social channels. Run LinkedIn (primary), TikTok, and Instagram. Voice, production, repurposing, and community engagement.

  • Founder content distribution. Sebastian writes the LinkedIn posts and long-form pieces. You edit, schedule, repurpose into clips and threads, and syndicate.

  • The Cruva TikTok Shop Index. Our quarterly proprietary data report on the state of the platform. You manage design, copy production, launch, and distribution end-to-end; Sebastian writes the data narrative.

  • Lead magnets. At least one free tool, report, or template per quarter. Brief design and engineering, write the copy, ship, and promote.

  • Podcast and show production. Once launched: booking, coordination, clip production, distribution.

  • Brand and event marketing. TikTok Shop Summit, partner events, customer dinners: both production and storytelling.

What You'll Bring
  • 2 to 5 years of marketing experience inside the creator economy or ecommerce, at a creator-economy SaaS, an influencer or creator agency, an ecommerce or Amazon growth agency, or a creator-led DTC brand.

  • A strong writing portfolio. Half of this role is writing: newsletter issues, case studies, founder content edits, campaign and landing copy. We ask for samples and weigh them heavily.

  • A demonstrated storytelling instinct: the ability to identify the narrative inside a customer interview and produce a piece worth forwarding.

  • Fluent, disciplined use of AI tools, with clear opinions on which is best for which task. Taste filters every output before it ships.

  • Production discipline. You can brief designers, edit short-form video, run projects to deadlines, and learn unfamiliar tools without supervision.

  • Comfort executing against a defined strategy. Sebastian sets direction; you make it real. The right candidate finds this energizing rather than constraining.

Compensation

$95,000 to $125,000 base salary depending on experience, plus meaningful early-stage equity. Start date: as soon as available.

Location

Los Angeles, CA. In-person at our office regularly. Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
