The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in M&A sourcing strategy, supplier governance, and risk mitigation with exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and enterprise collaboration skills.

You will oversee sourcing strategies from pre-deal assessment through post-merger integration, ensuring procurement aligns with business objectives, accelerates synergy realization, and strengthens overall enterprise value.

Responsibilities

M&A Strategy & Execution

  • Lead enterprise-wide procurement strategies for all stages of the M&A lifecycle — from due diligence through post-merger integration and value realization.

  • Partner with senior executives and functional leads to define sourcing priorities that align with corporate growth and transformation objectives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on procurement risks, opportunities, and synergy potential within each deal.

  • Design and present risk mitigation and value creation strategies to executive leadership and M&A steering committees.

  • Establish robust supplier governance frameworks to ensure compliance, business continuity, and long-term value protection.

Integration & Transformation Management

  • Lead integration of procurement processes, technologies, and supplier ecosystems across merged entities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and performance standards.

  • Partner with IT, Finance, and Legal to harmonize systems (e.g., SAP Ariba), contracts, and spend categories for efficiency and scalability.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and procurement transformation roadmaps that enhance post-merger operational performance.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Lead strategic supplier negotiations and performance management during transition phases, balancing cost optimization with supplier relationship continuity.

  • Influence and align internal stakeholders across global business units to ensure strategic procurement objectives are achieved consistently.

Financial Impact & Performance Management

  • Develop and manage M&A procurement budgets, synergy targets, and cost optimization KPIs.

  • Report on value capture, integration milestones, and procurement ROI to senior management and corporate development teams.

  • Utilize analytics and category intelligence to drive data-informed sourcing decisions.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Embed innovation and digital enablement into M&A procurement processes — leveraging automation, data analytics, and advanced sourcing tools.

  • Benchmark against industry best practices to continuously elevate procurement maturity and value delivery.

  • Mentor and develop team members to build organizational capability in M&A sourcing and integration management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, with at least 4 years focused on M&A procurement or related M&A activities.

  • Proven success influencing executive-level decision-making and delivering measurable procurement-driven value in complex deal environments.

  • Deep understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier management, risk assessment, and post-merger integration.

  • Experience leading multi-functional teams across Legal, Finance, Operations, and Corporate Development.

  • Expertise with enterprise procurement systems (SAP Ariba preferred) & analytics tools.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to interpret financial data, model synergy outcomes, and align procurement to enterprise value creation.

  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Media & Entertainment industry experience strongly preferred.

Key Competencies

  • Executive Presence & Influence

  • Strategic Thinking & Financial Acumen

  • Change Leadership

  • Results Orientation

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
