If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Manager of Renewals to build, lead and scale our global renewals function. This leader will be responsible for driving retention, minimizing churn, uncovering growth opportunities and optimizing recurring revenue across our customer base. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of experience building, managing, and mentoring high-performing renewal management teams at both fast-paced startups and established enterprise environments.

As the Sr Manager of Renewals, you will work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Finance, and Operations to define and execute scalable renewal strategies that align with our customer lifecycle and business objectives. This role demands a data-driven, customer-focused leader with deep knowledge of SaaS business models and renewal best practices across regions.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience leading renewals or customer success teams in B2B SaaS environments, with at least 3+ years in a global or senior leadership capacity.

  • Demonstrated success building and scaling high-performing renewals teams in both startup and established enterprise settings.

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.

  • Proven ability to manage complex customer relationships and renewal negotiations with enterprise clients, and create and execute scaled strategies for downmarket clients.

  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (NRR, GRR, churn, expansion) and renewal forecasting methodologies.

  • Experience implementing renewal frameworks, incentive plans, and performance KPIs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead through influence.

  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, and customer success platforms (e.g., Gainsight, Totango, ChurnZero).

  • Experience with multi-product, global SaaS organizations

  • Exposure to pricing, commercial terms, procurement and legal contract processes

  • Bonus: experience in the cybersecurity industry

What you can expect:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global renewals strategy focused on maximizing net revenue retention, minimizing customer churn and identifying growth opportunities.

  • Team Management: Build, scale, and lead a team of regional and global renewal managers, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.

  • Process Optimization: Design and implement scalable, repeatable processes and playbooks for renewals across all customer segments and geographies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance teams to streamline the renewals process, align on customer outcomes, and improve the overall customer experience.

  • Data & Reporting: Define and track KPIs for renewals performance. Leverage data to identify trends, forecast renewals, and report progress to executive leadership.

  • Customer Engagement: Ensure that renewal motions are aligned with customer needs and value delivery, contributing to long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Tools & Systems: Work closely with RevOps and IT to ensure tools such as Salesforce, Gainsight, or other CRM/CSM platforms effectively support renewals workflows.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $145,000 USD and $196,000 USD plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $143,000 CAD and $193,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.

Our culture

At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.

You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.

We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged at 1Password—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.

Our approach to work

We recognize the power of both in person collaboration and remote work. Some roles are designated as remote-first, with an expectation that individuals work from their homes majority of the time, while others are designated as in-office roles, with an expectation of being on-site on a regular basis. We recognize that certain roles benefit from regular, in-person connection to support collaboration, team cohesion, and customer engagement.

For all roles, occasional travel may be required. This includes things like: department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events are typically held in varying locations across Canada, USA and/or EMEA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.

Note: All go-to market roles will have an in-person onboarding in Toronto.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
