Your Role:
As a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager for our range extender system, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, validation, and acceptance of range extender systems, including engine and generator components. This role requires a deep understanding of range extender electric vehicle, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Drive suppliers to complete the development, validation, and acceptance of the range extender system according to specified requirements.
- Lead the evaluation and cost control of the range extender system, including both the engine and generator components.
- Assess supplier capabilities in research and development, as well as mass production and delivery.
- Oversee the integration of the range extender system into vehicles and manage the transition to mass production.
- Develop and implement standards to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Familiar with engine and generator control algorithms for smooth operation under various conditions to ensure efficient power distribution, fuel economy, and low emissions.
- Familiar with algorithms to monitor and diagnose system issues.
- Familiar with the testing requirements and processes of vehicle EAP and CARB emission regulations.
- Implement OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) to meet regulatory requirements (EPA, CARB).
- Analyze fault data to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
- Plan and execute engine, generator, and system-level tests.
- Analyze data to ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance.
- Optimize combustion, hybrid energy management, and powertrain efficiency.
- Be familiar with cooling systems for engines, generators, and batteries.
- Prevent thermal failures and improve system reliability under extreme conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proven minimum of 5 years of related experience in the development and integration of range extender system in electric vehicles.
- Strong understanding of engine and generator technologies.
- Experience in supplier evaluation and management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to range extender system.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a related field.
- Experience with mass production processes in the automotive industry.
Annual Salary Range:
($156K - $203K DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans
