Sr. Manager, Project Management - Card Performance Marketing & Analytics (Hybrid)
As a Senior Manager Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. Performance Marketing & Analytics is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Management on the Marketing Strategy & Operations team to lead a team of Project Managers supporting the Marketing team. The team of Project Managers support all of our marketing channels managing the intent intake & prioritization process, supporting the creative development process, managing marketing platform access, supporting our monthly budgeting process and other ad hoc projects as needed. A key part of this role is looking for ways to automate and optimize processes to make the Marketing team overall more efficient and effective. The candidate needs to be skilled in managing stakeholder and customer expectations, while concurrently maintaining delivery momentum.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of project managers
  • Reimagine the intent management process for how we intake, prioritize and communicate updates on work with partners
  • The candidate will work closely with the Card Site team and their key stakeholders and partners across the Card Business, Marketing, Technology, Platforms, Legal, Risk, and Design teams to help intake, prioritize, refine, and deliver intent to enable our collective organizational goals.
  • The candidate will also work closely with the Content Marketing and Brand Creative teams. Oversee the creative development process for the Outbound Marketing team and the article development pipeline for the Content Marketing team, looking for ways to develop more, high quality assets/articles quickly and efficiently
  • Oversee influencer/creator monitoring and rights management
  • Ensure the channels are run in a well-managed way, documenting key artifacts and looking for ways to optimize processes
  • Oversee monthly budgeting process and platform access for all marketing channels
  • Inform requirements for the build of enterprise solutions for things like digital asset management and legal/compliance review tools
  • Constantly be looking for new tools to automate manual processes
  • "Self-starter", strong organizational skills, ownership mentality, ability to prioritize workloads, and fast learner of new digital marketing and project management technology tools

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project program efforts
  • Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports
  • Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
  • Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time
  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
  • Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience, at least 3 of which are in delivering Horizontal objectives and improvements
  • At least 4 years of People Management experience
  • At least 3 years of multi-channel digital marketing experience on client-side or agency
  • At least 2 years of experience using Google Suite (Sheets and Slides) or Microsoft (Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or MBA
  • 6+ years of Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing marketing materials
  • 5+ years of People Management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in leading cross-functional teams within an organization
  • 3+ years of experience in Process management
  • PMP, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, or Business Process Management certification.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr Manager, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
