Job Summary

Responsible for day-to-day direction and management of the Procurement department. Primarily responsible for the external procurement, sourcing and contracting of goods and services. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of Buyers, Analysts and Clerks in the daily functions of purchasing and procurement. Manages multiple project teams.
  • Selects and manages new and existing suppliers through competitive solicitation and direct negotiations.
  • Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner and ensures results with consistent monitoring of staff, suppliers and procedures.
  • Manages vendor/supplier relationship and interfaces with key executives on supplier issues.
  • Coordinates and reports procurement activities, plans and results with key representatives across several departments.
  • Assesses market conditions that may effect procurements, continually. Anticipates and formulates alternative solutions based upon market changes.
  • Develops, mentors and trains staff and monitors to ensure work performance is to Company standards.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
