As the Sr. Manager of Media Relations based in LA, you will oversee the editorial communication of national and globally relevant stories from the World of Red Bull with key media and journalists based in the Los Angeles area Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Brand Communications & Media Relations, you will select the relevant content, distribution tactics/strategy and fitting messages/topics to be communicated to consumers through our top U.S. and global earned media outlets. Moreover, you will be the correspondent for the RBNA Media Network in Santa Monica in identifying local stories that have national and global earned media potential and working with the regional and national Communication Managers to uplevel their content and story angles for earned media impact nationally and globally.

You will have the right combination of editorial story identification and media pitching experience, a network of relevant media contacts (U.S. and International), excellent project management skills and good partnership management skills to contribute to the strategic goals of the RBNA Media Network.

Job Description

DRIVE EARNED MEDIA COVERAGE

Establish relationships with targeted national and international media outlets headquartered in the Los Angeles region.

Pitch and negotiate national and globally relevant stories from the World of Red Bull (Sports, Culture, Brand) to targeted national and international media outlets weekly.

Develop and implement world-class media experiences and host national and international media partners.


INDUSTRY INSIGHTS AND KNOWLEDGE CREATION

Keep track of important trends and happenings of editorial media and journalism that influence the earned media strategies of Communication Managers across Red Bull North America

Deliver earned media insights and knowledge resources based on direct conversations with editorial media partners and industry research

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Communications, PR or Marketing in media led companies

A communication/public relations professional with an existing network of relevant contacts in national and global media organizations

A track record in leading projects and securing brand reach and engagement by earned media amplification.

Know how to position media projects to guarantee message pull-through to our target audience through earned media

Demonstrated experience in media partnership management across several platforms

A story seeker that identifies those stories with a true media potential

Enthusiastic about sports, lifestyle, music and dance, and media

In addition to possessing a high level of creativity, must have collaboration and execution skills

Hands-on mentality to also support content management and reporting & analysis processes

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage

Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $85,600 - 128,400 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
