Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Market Strategy is a highly visible leadership role that plays a critical role in shaping and executing CVS Health’s enterprise data insights vision for pharmaceutical manufacturer, payer, and provider customers. This role is a strategic, thought leadership position within the Trade Strategy and Data Product Development team, with end-to-end accountability for informing product direction through market intelligence, customer and competitor research, and commercialization strategy.This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in pharma data analytics or direct experience working at leading healthcare data platforms and aggregators. The Senior Manager will help CVS Health build a differentiated presence in the healthcare data insights ecosystem by identifying new opportunities, piloting innovative concepts, and translating insights into action.Primary Responsibilities1. Own Competitive and Market Intelligence
- Maintain ongoing market surveillance and intelligence for healthcare data and analytics offerings—monitoring competitors, emerging platforms, and key market players.
- Develop and apply research methodologies to analyze pharma and payer trends, whitespace opportunities, and customer needs.
- Deliver actionable insight packages, thought leadership materials, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.
2. Shape and Execute Data Insights Strategy
- Translate market trends and business needs into strategic input for the product portfolio and roadmap.
- Help prioritize and operationalize innovation opportunities in collaboration with the product and business development teams.
- Incubate and launch early-stage data insights solutions, applying test-and-learn strategies to validate product-market fit and customer value.
3. Lead Go-to-Market Strategy and Commercial Planning
- Develop tailored GTM strategies for data insights offerings, including messaging, packaging, positioning, and commercialization plans.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, legal, product, enterprise partners) to bring new data offerings to market.
- Define and refine customer segmentation strategies, user personas, and high-value use cases across pharma, payer, and provider segments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical data analytics, commercial strategy, or product development, preferably with direct experience at a pharma manufacturer or a leading data aggregator/platform . (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony/ICON, Optum Insights, HealthVerity, Datavant, or similar)
- Deep understanding of the pharma value chain, including market access, commercial analytics, and data-driven engagement models.
- Proven success translating customer and market insights into product strategies and commercialization plans.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to draw insights from disparate sources and apply them in a structured business context.
- Experience launching pilots or new offerings, with a focus on validation, iteration, and scale.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to deliver presentations to executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of related work experience
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare data strategy, market research, or consulting related to life sciences
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical analytics, pharma market access, data product management, or healthcare insights
- Experience in customer-facing roles or external partnership development
- MBA or experience in management consulting is strongly preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Master’s Degree or MBA (preferred)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$75,400.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
