ABOUT THE ROLE:
Skechers has an exciting opening for a Sr. IT Portfolio Manager to play a key role in supporting the overall Skechers Project Management Lifecycle process and the continued digital transformation of IT. This individual will lead the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team within IT Business Operations and oversee all aspects of the IT project portfolio. The Portfolio Manager will work closely and partner with the Director of IT Project Management, IT leadership, and their teams to ensure there are clear processes, tools and KPI’s in place to help guide and measure the IT project portfolio. The Sr. Portfolio Manager provides thought leadership in resolving issues and mitigating risks to ensure that programs and projects are completed on time, within budget and to specifications. This position involves coordinating cross-functional delivery teams and effectively managing resource plans to balance the team's workloads. The candidate will ensure adoption of established portfolio management practices, and instill a culture of execution, operational excellence, and accountability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Strategic Portfolio Leadership:

  • Support IT department heads with long-range planning and multi-year technology roadmaps aligned to business strategic goals.
  • Optimize project portfolio performance, balance capacity against demand, and maximize investment value through data-driven decision making.

Operational Management:

  • Lead Portfolio Management team operations including intake processes, project prioritization, approval workflows, and governance standards.
  • Manage portfolio management tool maintenance and Project Change Request (PCR) processes.
  • Partner with the Director of Project Management to implement standard reporting guidelines and dashboards for IT leadership and stakeholders.
  • Partner with project teams to track budgets, milestones, timelines, and KPIs ensuring full portfolio visibility.

Financial & Resource Management:

  • Perform financial analysis on project budgets and prepare comprehensive budget and forecast reports.
  • Enable resource demand planning and project pipeline decisions through collaborative partnerships with IT leaders.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

  • Manage, coach, and develop team of 2 IT Portfolio Analysts.
  • Continuously improve PMO processes and champion industry best practices for better project planning and delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Experience managing large, interdependent integration projects requiring proactive leadership and risk management.
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban, Scrum).
  • Experience managing external supplier-led initiatives and working across software development methodologies.
  • Financial planning experience with budgetary planning and cost reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise portfolio management tools.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience with strong organizational and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Experience establishing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) preferred.
  • ITIL framework knowledge preferred.
  • ServiceNow and/or Smartsheet experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT Project Management or Business Analysis with client leadership experience.
  • Ability to work 3 days in the office per week.

The pay range for this position is $135,000-$175,000/yr USD.
