Magic Spoon reimagines your childhood breakfasts favorites with more protein, less sugar, and more fun. Since launching in 2019, we've brought our unbelievably tasty cereal to over one million customers online and over 20,000 stores nationwide. With our recently launched Protein Pastries, alongside our Cereal, Protein Treats and Protein Granola, we're continuing to find new ways to make mornings magical - all made possible by our incredible team.

We're looking for a Senior Manager of IT & Enterprise Systems to own the systems, tools, and technology partnerships that keep Magic Spoon running and oversee systems rooted in driving real business outcomes specific to Magic Spoon's industry and needs. You'll own our ERP day-to-day, run our software implementations and AI rollouts, manage tech budgets and vendor relationships, and lead a team of two.

This is a hands-on execution role for someone energized by solving real problems, comfortable jumping between systems work and cross-functional partnership, and rigorous about prioritization in a fast paced environment. You'll work closely with the Chief of Staff to translate business priorities into well-run technology projects.

This is a full time role with a preference for in person/hybrid work based in Hudson Square, New York City (Tue/Wed/Thu in office). We are also open to remote candidates across the US.

  • Manage integrations between BC and connected systems (Shopify, EDI, 3PLs, finance and reporting tools), troubleshooting issues and rolling out enhancements as needs evolve
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to make sure the ERP supports key workflows such as month end close, reporting, and decision-making
  • Execute ERP enhancements and module rollouts in partnership with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners

Software Implementations & AI Rollouts

  • Run software evaluations, implementations, and rollouts from requirements gathering through training and adoption
  • Lead the rollout and adoption of AI tools across the company: identify high-leverage use cases, get tools into people's hands, train teams, and help every function get more out of AI
  • Partner with department leads (Finance, Operations, Commercial, People, Marketing) to understand their needs and help them pick and implement the right tools
  • Stay current on what's working at peer companies and bring strong recommendations to the leadership team

Data, Systems, and Analytics Architecture

  • Maintain Magic Spoon’s overall systems architecture and tech stack, pressure testing current needs and future state requirements/design
  • Deeply understand our data architecture and requirements to best support the team in delivering accurate and reliable data to support business processes and analysis
  • Guide IT team to support departments upleveling analytics fluency and using data to drive business decisions

Project & Priority Management

  • Maintain a clear, prioritized IT roadmap that reflects company priorities, with transparent tradeoffs when capacity is constrained
  • Run IT projects with rigor: clear scope, timelines, owners, and success criteria, delivered on schedule and on budget

Tech Budget & Vendor Management

  • Manage the IT budget end-to-end: software contracts, renewals, hardware, and vendor spend
  • Track spend rigorously, identify opportunities to consolidate or optimize tools, and bring a clear ROI lens to every investment
  • Run vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing relationship management; hold vendors accountable to service levels and value delivery

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of two across IT Specialist and Data Product Engineer
  • Set clear goals, give regular feedback, and create growth opportunities for both
  • Foster a problem-solving, business priority-centric culture within the IT function

Requirements
  • 6+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years managing a team
  • Hands-on experience implementing, administering, and improving an ERP system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system (i.e. NetSuite)
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading software implementations from evaluation through rollout and adoption
  • Demonstrated rigor around prioritization: you can hold the line on scope and sequencing when the asks pile up
  • Experience in a CPG, DTC, or retail environment strongly preferred; you understand how IT supports a business that ships physical product through complex retail and eCommerce channels (i.e order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, EDI, month end close)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
