Position Overview

The Yahoo Communications team is seeking a Content Specialist to lead the day-to-day content creation, strategy, and editorial execution as the lead across Yahoo's brand LinkedIn.

As the primary owner of Yahoo's LinkedIn channel, you'll be responsible for sharing the latest news, product launches, company updates, and insights from Yahoo across diverse audiences on the platform. We’re seeking a strategic storyteller who can craft compelling narratives, translate company news into engaging content, develop content in varying formats, and build a robust editorial calendar and channel strategy.

Collaborating closely with the Creative Director within Communications, you'll lead high-quality written and visual content development, manage the daily publishing and engagement for Yahoo's LinkedIn presence, and drive new opportunities including LinkedIn newsletters, executive thought leadership, visual and video storytelling, creator collaborations, series, and audience growth initiatives.

This role sits within the Communications team and reports to the Director of Brand Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic content development for Yahoo’s brand LinkedIn channel grounded in platform expertise, content experimentation, and data-driven iteration

  • Write, edit, and produce high-quality content across formats including static posts, long-form articles, executive bylines, newsletter copy, video scripts, and thought leadership pieces 

  • Identify and work with a network for writers, producers, and content creators as needed

  • Create content strategies specific to LinkedIn in support of key industry and company moments 

  • Draft and develop content that translates complex ideas into compelling, accessible narratives that build Yahoo LinkedIn presence as well as that of key executives

  • Design and implement an editorial strategy focused on growing and engaging key audiences on LinkedIn with content that balances business objectives and cultural relevance

  • Provide strategic guidelines and content frameworks for thought leaders during key company moments, product launches, and industry events

  • Partner with the Creative Director within Communications to develop visual storytelling assets from stills to video

  • Develop editorial calendar and oversee day-to-day content publishing, community management, and engagement for Yahoo’s brand LinkedIn 

  • Identify and execute creator campaigns, managing budgets for collaborations and content boosting

  • Manage and report on channel performance metrics and use insights to continuously optimize strategy and content quality

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience that includes writing, content creation, production and channel strategy (Bonus: Hands-on experience shaping and scaling LinkedIn strategy specifically)

  • Strong awareness of emerging LinkedIn trends and best practices with the ability to translate them into compelling content that strengthens brand visibility and engagement

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across formats, topics, and tones

  • Proven experience creating executive-level content which may include thought leadership articles, speeches, or social media content

  • Strong editorial judgment with ability to translate complex business concepts, new products, and news into engaging content

  • Demonstrated success managing and growing social channels or owned content platforms 

  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop content frameworks that deliver measurable results

  • Experience working in scaled organizations and interfacing directly with leadership 

  • Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline

  • A self-starter and a team player ready to roll up their sleeves, get creative, and build this function from the ground up

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
