Sr. Legal Assistant - RemoteJob Description

The Sr. Legal Assistant is responsible for providing enhanced legal and operational support for corporate attorneys and other professionals within the legal department, with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, discretion and independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the legal department and other internal business units, external partners, and outside counsel, to ensure seamless workflow and efficient administrative support for all legal initiatives. 
  • Provide operational support for the legal department including drafting and maintenance of internal policies and process guides, which may include contracts, agreements, and corporate resolutions. 
  • Ensure the company's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by assisting with preparation, proofreading and filing of corporate documents, annual reports, business licenses, and other regulatory filings and correspondence, and gathering and compiling materials for board meetings and other corporate governance activities.
  • Assist with the development of, maintenance and scheduling of legal trainings and meetings.
  • Manage and maintain electronic legal files, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible. Triage correspondence, assist with process mailings and acceptance of service of process documents.
  • Utilize budget and invoicing software to review and track law firm invoices, assist with budgeting, and generating reports for billing and board reports, and other innovative technology and software to manage electronic data and track deadlines.
  • Provide administrative excellence for special projects, new employee onboarding, department event planning, creating and socializing meeting agendas, and assist as needed with calendar management, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
  • 2 years of work experience within Legal and/or Compliance
  • 2 years of work experience in an administrative or department coordination role
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate needs and self-direct to ensure accountabilities are fulfilled
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (inclusive of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Expert level attention to detail with previous experience consolidating information from various sources into executive summaries, spreadsheets, presentations and reports
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Experience establishing and maintaining key relationships internally and externally, at all levels of an organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in business or a legal secretary certification by an accredited organization; HS diploma or GED is required
  • 5 years of work experience in an administrative, department coordination, Legal or Compliance related role with at least 2 years experience working within a Legal department, law firm, government agency, or other related entity
  • Significant working knowledge of, and experience applying Legal terminology and Board practices
  • Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management, managed care or other healthcare organization

Potential pay for this position ranges from $25.48 - $40.87 based on experience and skills.
