As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Markets Technology group, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance & deliver trusted market-leading scalable technology products . As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in Java software development and architecture
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Strong written and oral communication and excellent presentation and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with global agile teams
  • Strong knowledge in Core Java (Java 17+), Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Micro Services, Agile, DevOps
  • Deep experience in object oriented analysis and design (OOAD)
  • Good SQL/PL-SQL Skills and Hibernate/JPA
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to solve complex problems at scale, providing technical thought leadership in evaluating new technologies and influencing key stakeholders, user groups and other technology teams across the globe.
  • Passion for and expertise in architectural design that accelerates innovation across applications, and people, with extensive experience in implementing and delivering large-scale enterprise software systems in real-world, regulated environments.
  • Experience with Green field Development and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • AWS certification(s), Working experience on Spark, AWS Glue ETL, Python
  • Knowledge of Equities or Fixed Income products, Trade Lifecycle
