Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and backend application development. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of application performance, including CPU and memory optimization, along with hands-on experience in Node.js or Python FastAPI. Exposure to Generative AI and/or GraphQL will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop robust RESTful APIs and backend services following best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Analyze and optimize application performance, with a strong focus on CPU utilization, memory management, and overall system efficiency.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement appropriate optimization and tuning techniques.
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, architecture, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Develop or integrate services using Node.js or Python FastAPI as required.
  • Troubleshoot complex production and application-level issues and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making.
  • Contribute to improving application reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to the adoption of modern backend engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java backend development.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring-based application development.
  • Solid understanding of CPU and memory optimization techniques in backend applications.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js or Python FastAPI.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and backend architecture.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle, coding standards, and version control.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Generative AI / Gen AI technologies and use cases.
  • Experience with GraphQL and GraphQL-based APIs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native application development.
  • Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with application monitoring and performance profiling tools.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 44,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 154,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
Medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, variable pay/incentives, paid time off, and paid holidays are available for full time employees.
This position is available for independent contractors
