Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril's Manufacturing Technology, Maritime Team is seeking a Lead Industrial and Process Flow Engineer, Maritime to join our team. The Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies and processes for cutting-edge defense hardware, including deployable static and moving surface, undersea and sea to air vehicles and scaling these products in our new manufacturing facilities.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Lead Industrial and Process Flow Engineer, you will be the technical lead for developing discrete event simulation models and process flow optimizations to drive efficient, data-driven manufacturing decisions. The right person for this role has deep experience creating sophisticated simulation models that accurately predict production throughput, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource allocation across complex manufacturing environments. If you are passionate about using advanced simulation techniques to solve challenging production problems and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, this role is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and implement discrete event simulation (DES) models to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, material flows, and resource utilization for maritime vehicle production.
- Develop critical chain project management models to improve scheduling efficiency and reduce project lead times.
- Create dynamic, data-driven simulations that accurately reflect real-world manufacturing constraints and variability.
- Work closely with industrial engineers to translate production goals into optimized floor layouts and workflows.
- Analyze simulation results to identify production constraints and recommend process improvements that maximize throughput and minimize costs.
- Support capacity planning by modeling various demand and production scenarios.
- Develop visualization tools that effectively communicate simulation insights to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Integrate simulation models with live production data to create digital twins that enable real-time decision support.
- Collaborate with manufacturing technology teams to implement validated process improvements.
- Provide data-driven analysis to support capital equipment investments and facility layout decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience developing and implementing manufacturing simulations using industry-standard DES tools (e.g., FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, Arena).
- Must have experience working in a Shipyard Production/Manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in process flow optimization and critical chain project management implementation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience working directly with manufacturing teams to implement process improvements based on simulation results.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools for creating compelling presentations of simulation outcomes.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field.
- Experience with maritime manufacturing processes or defense industry production environments.
- Knowledge of digital twin implementation and integration with production systems.
- Experience developing custom simulation components using programming languages (Python, C++, R).
- Background in lean manufacturing principles and application to production optimization.
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Familiarity with statistical process control and experimental design techniques.
