Position Summary
Are you ready to drive digital transformation in global manufacturing? As a Senior Implementation Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge MES (Manufacturing Execution System) projects for some of the world’s leading Food & Beverage companies.
In this role, you’ll lead the end-to-end implementation of SaaS-based MES solutions—ensuring every project is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality. Drawing on your SaaS implementation expertise (ideally in a manufacturing environment), you’ll help clients streamline operations, boost efficiency, and unlock the full potential of Industry 4.0 technologies.
You’ll work within an ISO 9001-approved systems engineering framework, applying best practices to deliver solutions both in Ireland and internationally. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience with advanced Orbis application software—with full training and continuous professional development provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of SaaS-based MES solutions that transform how customers run and scale their manufacturing operations.
Analyze and understand customer processes to translate requirements into tailored SaaS implementations—owning system design, configuration, testing, and validation.
Configure and optimize cloud-based MES applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems while collaborating with your team to deliver outstanding results.
Work hand-in-hand with the Team Lead to scope, define, and document SaaS project requirements that set the stage for successful implementations.
Engage directly with customers—onsite and virtually—to drive adoption, deliver value, and ensure solutions exceed expectations.
Manage project workflows within SaaS implementation frameworks, hitting key milestones and keeping projects on schedule.
Represent Orbis in customer project meetings, addressing issues proactively, driving follow-ups, and ensuring stakeholders stay aligned.
Champion continuous improvement by sharing SaaS deployment learnings and best practices with the wider Orbis team.
Contribute wherever needed—adapting to evolving priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused SaaS environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering SaaS-based software projects, with a strong track record of successful implementations in manufacturing environments (Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals preferred).
3+ years of software project delivery experience, including at least 1 year in a senior implementation role (required).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes—such as dairy, brewing, or distillation—and the ability to translate them into scalable digital solutions.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical IT experience.
Advanced SQL expertise (required): data historians, T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and Microsoft SQL Management Studio. A technical interview will assess these skills.
Analytical problem-solver with excellent organizational skills and the ability to document, validate, and communicate effectively across teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint) to support project planning and reporting.
Preferred: Hands-on experience with ETL processes, Power BI, and version control tools (e.g., Git).
