Position Description
As a Sr. Group Product Manager – Digital, you will work on projects related to proprietary implants, instrumentation, and design automation systems to enable personalized surgery. You will be the primary liaison between the development group and healthcare teams and will lead a team effort to develop exciting new products from inception through commercialization. You will partner with surgical and digital engineers, commercial teams, surgeons and internal/external colleagues to determine user requirements, product needs, conduct evaluations, develop branding, create guides, and implement sales and surgeon training strategies to successfully execute a highly impactful product launch.
Responsibilities
- Leads strategic direction for the Enabling Technology portfolio, managing the full product lifecycle from concept through post-launch support. Responsibilities include driving portfolio vision and roadmap, leading market and user research, defining high-impact product proposals, and ensuring alignment across development, clinical, and commercial functions.
- Owns cross-functional alignment and prioritization of the Enabling Technology roadmap. Builds strong business cases for investment, drives stakeholder alignment on multi-year strategic priorities, and ensures integration into the broader Carlsmed platform and personalization ecosystem.
- Leads and mentors cross-functional teams through complex product development efforts. Balances Desirability, Viability, and Feasibility when shaping solutions. Defines and owns market and product requirements and drives tradeoff decisions to meet clinical, technical, and business needs.
- Partners with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Professional Education to define go-to-market strategies, messaging frameworks, and launch plans for major product initiatives.
- Champions internal communication of portfolio progress and strategy. Drives executive updates, milestone reviews, and ensures transparency and cross-departmental coordination.
- Drives customer engagement strategy by identifying and cultivating key opinion leaders, gathering ongoing VOC, and representing Carlsmed at high-impact sales events, conferences, and clinical forums.
- Initiates and leads continuous improvement initiatives across product development, commercialization, and operational processes, serving as a change agent for product excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a related discipline required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred
- 10+ years of product management experience, ideally in the orthopedic or spine device space
- Proven success in launching and scaling both hardware and software-enabled healthcare products, especially those involving personalization, AI, or cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience developing product strategy and portfolio roadmaps that influence company direction
- Expertise in translating customer insights into prioritized product features and scalable requirements
- Skilled at developing executive-level presentations and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; a natural collaborator and problem-solver
- Able to travel between 15–40%

Compensation
We are pleased to provide a competitive salary and benefits. Our benefits reflect our investment in the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families. including paying 100% of monthly healthcare, dental & vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with employer matching and unlimited PTO. The expected pay range is: $160,000 to $180,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
