Automates financial workflows and dashboards using tools such as Alteryx, UiPath, Tableau, and Power BI while improving reporting processes and operational efficiency across a global Technology organization.
About Team / Role
WEX is seeking a highly analytical and self-driven Senior Financial Analyst (FA4) to join our FP&A organization. In this role, you will act as a dedicated financial lead and strategic partner to Technology, Product, and Commercial leadership teams, delivering comprehensive budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure management, and deep-dive analytics to support executive decision-making. You will provide critical insights to leadership while driving financial clarity, accountability, audit compliance, and operational efficiency across the global Technology organization.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Strategic Business Partnering & Leadership: Act as a key thought partner to Technology, Product, and Commercial leaders. Build strong cross-functional partnerships, connecting Technology & Digital teams with Commercial Finance partners to enable informed decision-making and align project delivery timelines with financial constraints. Develop best practice reporting and explain financial findings to all leadership levels.
- Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver transparent, high-quality monthly financial reporting and forward-looking projections for operating expenses and capital spend across cost categories, teams, and strategic initiatives. Drive financial visibility for Executive Leadership Team (ELT) stakeholders, highlighting cost drivers, resource investments, and performance metrics.
- CapEx Lifecycle & Capital Planning: Utilize and leverage capital reporting and tracking tools for multi-million dollar annual capital portfolios. Develop sophisticated cost models, apply capitalization rates to compensation data, and integrate project-tracking tools (e.g., Jira) with ERP/Anaplan systems to track capital delivery. Implement and enhance capital planning tools in alignment with enterprise FP&A upgrades.
- Month-End Close & Audit Compliance: Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, including accruals, reclassifications, variance analysis, and reconciliation of financial systems. Enforce compliance with accounting policies, maintain robust documentation, enforce materiality thresholds (e.g., $250k), and perform relevant monthly SOX controls.
- Process Automation & Continuous Improvement: Champion the modernization of financial processes by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities. Implement automated workflows, standardized templates, and reporting dashboards using tools like Alteryx, Tableau, and UIPath to shift focus from manual data processing to strategic analysis.
Experience You'll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification preferred.
- Experience: 5–10+ years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience, with demonstrated success supporting cross-functional technology, IT, or commercial organizations.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (complex modeling, advanced formulas, pivot tables) and experience with enterprise ERP and FP&A platforms (Anaplan, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle). Hands-on experience or proficiency with automation and data visualization tools (Alteryx, UIPath, Tableau, Power BI).
- Analytical Rigor & Compliance: Strong financial acumen with proven ability to synthesize complex data sets into actionable executive insights. Expertise in applying capitalization policies, maintaining SOX controls, and ensuring audit readiness.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical/financial concepts for cross-functional stakeholders and ELT members.
- Process Leadership: Proven "fix and build" mindset with a track record of streamlining manual workflows, standardizing reporting, and driving operational efficiency.
- Adaptability & Collaboration: Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, lead initiatives across matrixed teams, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
