About this role/team:

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing FP&A team. This team member will assist with and eventually own a dynamic and diverse set of responsibilities. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support optimal business decision-making. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of FP&A.  It is critical that this individual is a proactive, self-motivated individual who can work autonomously with minimal supervision and demonstrate good judgment and discretion.

Here's What You'll Be Doing

  • Operate the monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, including Annual Operating Planning, Monthly forecasts, and budget vs actuals analysis
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial review packages for executive management and the Board of Director
  • Structure, build, and maintain complex financial and decision-making models to develop meaningful insights and actionable recommendations
  • Support senior leadership on ad-hoc research and analysis
  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders to review, refine, and finalize financial and operating metrics and leverage to forecast accurately.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data structures, align on definitions and data sources and build automation of agreed upon metrics
  • Support headcount planning, modeling, and data-driven decision making to optimize workforce strategies
  • Conduct financial and strategic analysis of vendor agreements and contract renewals, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize cost, terms, and vendor relationships

We're Excited About You Because You Have

  • 5 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, business operations or related fields
  • Robust financial modeling, ideally with experience in Tech or other high growth industries
  • Well-developed systems aptitude and advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace. Experience with NetSuite and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools such as Pigment, Oracle, or Anaplan is preferred.
  • Deep analytical and critical thinking; ability to communicate complex concepts at a high level
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high-quality attention to detail
  • Superb communication skills and ability to skillfully manage relationships with stakeholders across the business
  • History of cross-functional work with strong relationship management & collaboration
  • Bachelor’s Degree (MBAs invited to apply; CFA/CPA a plus)

Location:

Required location for this role is in one of our entities in the Pacific Standard Time Zone: CA, NV, OR, and WA.

We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Travel Expectations:

We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Compensation:

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience.

The following are our base salary ranges for multiple levels:

  • SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County, Seattle/Olympia: $120,000 - $135,000
  • Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $110,400 - $124,200
  • All other cities and towns in our approved states: $103,200 - $116,100

This position has a bonus component.

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
