At Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), we’re storytellers, boundary-breakers, and visionaries. Every day, we bring to life films, television, and digital content that moves audiences around the globe. Finance plays a critical role in that mission — supporting strategic decision-making through disciplined planning, insightful analysis, and reliable reporting.

As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Enterprise Financial Planning (EFP) team, you will be a key contributor to SPE’s enterprise-wide planning and forecasting processes. This role partners closely with finance teams across operating divisions to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial submissions, while supporting the tools, systems, and reporting that inform senior leadership and Sony Corporation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation, consolidation, presentation, and submission of enterprise-wide financial projections, including the annual Budget, 2-year Strategic (Mid-Range) Plan, and quarterly forecasts of income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets for all SPE operating divisions.
  • Coordinate with divisional finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial submissions; manage line-of-business online trackers and supporting schedules.
  • Review and analyze financial data submitted by operating units, identifying key variances versus prior forecasts and highlighting notable trends and drivers.
  • Prepare financial reporting and presentation materials, ensuring consistency with enterprise standards and presentation requirements.
  • Manage user access, updates, and assets for the EFP coordination site, ensuring appropriate controls, version accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Maintain the enterprise consolidation systems and offline input templates used to collect projected financials from operating units.
  • Lead the bi-weekly forecast update process, coordinating inputs, validating changes, and supporting summary analysis.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for senior SPE management and Sony Corporation as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, public accounting, or a related analytical role.
  • Solid working knowledge of accounting principles, including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning processes in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP BW or other enterprise financial systems preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $79,200-$99,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.

SPE will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with applicable law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
