About the Team:  

The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R right here at our headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. The scope and scale are significant, with test stands capable of handling millions of pounds of force. Team members lead multiple
projects in parallel, avoiding silos and gaining broad technical experience without needing a background in aerospace. With high-impact campaigns ahead, including thrust structure and stage 2 testing, now is the time to join. You won’t just execute, but you’ll help shape and scale the test infrastructure required to meet the demands of a rapidly growing launch program.

About the Role:
  • Fabricate test stands, tooling, piping & test fixtures required to test our launch vehicles
  • Day-day responsibilities will be to metal fabrication, fluid system fabrication, lifting & rigging
  • Work with engineering to improve area safety, processes, procedures, and efficiency
  • Weld in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient operation
  • Interface with area lead, and prioritize work based on test schedule and organizational goals
About You:
  • 10+ years of multi-process welding AC & DC (Certification required)
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions
  • Certification with D1.1 or LA City
  • Experience completing welds that pass visual before being X-rayed or DPI
  • Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts
Nice to haves:
  • 7+ years of experience in welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum or titanium
  • Self-starter, highly motivated working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in control of hazardous energy (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing principles
