We're looking for innovative and driven people passionate about building the future of Enterprise Intelligence to join our growing team!

About the Role:

Craft is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of our core engineering teams. This role focuses on leadership and people; we’re looking for someone who has experience with building process, scaling engineering teams, and leading teams within successful engineering organizations.

You will be actively involved in technical design and architectural discussions. You must possess the depth to challenge engineering decisions, ask the hard questions, and guide your team toward better solutions. Your ability to engage in these deep technical debates will be a primary tool you use to mentor your engineers and help them grow. This role is supported by an amazing product manager, where the two of you will partner to deliver on our mission, and together establish our data vision.

This is a remote role, but we have a strong preference for individuals located in Warsaw, as we have a co-working space and several team members based in Warsaw.

What You'll Do:
  • Define and execute the team’s technical strategy, holding full accountability for roadmaps, planning, and on-time delivery.

  • Work closely with your Product Manager counterpart, defining and aligning on priority and execution

  • Oversee end-to-end engineering projects, taking ownership from initial concept design through to final implementation.

  • Build and nurture a high-performing, diverse, globally distributed engineering team through active hiring, empathetic mentoring, and career coaching.

  • Serve as the primary technical bridge between Product Management, Engineering, and Business groups to align goals and deliverables.

  • Provide strong architectural guidance and leadership to your direct reports and partner teams.

Who You Are:
  • Have a proven successful track record of leading and empowering software development teams for data intensive SaaS products.

  • 7+ years of software development experience, including at least three years leading engineering teams.

  • You have a good understanding that partnering with the business to deliver real value is a key motivator for keeping your teams happy and healthy.

  • You practice radical responsibility and accountability, with a positive attitude, and a strong emphasis of keeping your teams from getting blocked.

  • Show curiosity through asking questions, digging into new technologies, and always trying to grow.

  • Strong team player, great listener, able to facilitate discussion and assimilate diverse opinions towards clear decisions.

Our current technology stack:

  • Applications: React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Apollo

  • Cloud: AWS and Databricks

  • Data Engineering & Backend: Python, SQL, Pandas, Pydantic, Apache Airflow, FastAPI

What We Offer:
  • Option to work as a B2B contractor or full-time employee

  • Competitive salary at a well-funded, fast-growing startup

  • PTO days so you can take the time you need to refresh!

    • Full-time employees: 20- 28 PTO days allotted (dependent on experience and seniority) + paid public holidays

    • B2B contractors: 15 PTO days allotted + paid public holidays

  • 100% remote work (or hybrid if you prefer, we have coworking place in center of Warsaw)

A Note to Candidates:

We are an equal opportunity employer who values and encourages diversity, equity and belonging at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, caste, or disability status.

Don’t meet every requirement? Studies have shown that women, communities of color and historically underrepresented talent are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Craft, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we strongly encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
