As a member of a cross functional team, you lead RDQ activities required to complete process design and process deployment for innovation, growth and cost optimization projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.
How you will contribute
Working independently, you will lead technical work across multiple projects aligned with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will also lead activities designed to generate appropriate process information using modelling and simulation, and pilot plant scale up and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. You will be involved with/lead process design and specifications, process scale-up and commissioning and will ensure the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies. This position requires you to manage stakeholders and to influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results; create and maintain accurate consumer centric process specifications; leverage connections to internal and external technical communities, and; create intellectual property that gives Mondelēz International a competitive advantage.

About This Role
The Sr. Engineer II is a critical cross-functional role supporting the North America region (United States and Canada), driving innovation development, brand quality, and manufacturing excellence across our food and confectionery operations. This role serves as a key point of contact for supply chain and financial stakeholders, leads initiatives in productivity improvement, and ensures adherence to the highest manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in food process development, a strong drive for results, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and commercialization of new products and processes, from concept through scale-up to full production.
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed established brand quality standards across all manufacturing sites.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cost.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage process specifications to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Support ongoing brand integrity by troubleshooting quality issues and driving corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between R&D and supply chain operations.
  • Partner with finance and engineering on project budgets, capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, and cost analysis.
  • Lead Integrated initiative Management (iiM) projects, coordinating cross-functional teams from initiation to completion.
  • Establish and uphold manufacturing standards across all production facilities.

Job-Specific Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in RDQ Product/Process Development, Supply Chain Manufacturing, or Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of process design and its impact on product attributes, ideally with hands-on experience in confectionery manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex process and product quality issues.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing scale-up trials at food manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with capital expenditure projects, including the commissioning of new process equipment and production lines.

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering/science discipline is required.

Travel Requirements
  • Up to 30% travel required across Canada, Mexico, the United States, and Turkey.

Salary and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $93 300 to $116 650 CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 10% with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. Mondelez also offers several generous employee benefits (some subsidized or fully paid for by the company), including health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education related programs, and enhanced vacation and holiday entitlements.
