Job Overview
PlanetArt is looking for a Senior E-commerce Pricing Analyst to support the company’s pricing group. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing online pricing strategies across e-commerce channels. This role combines pricing analytics, competitive intelligence, customer behavior analysis, dynamic pricing, and experimentation to improve pricing performance and support profitable growth.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities

E-commerce Pricing Strategy

  • Analyze product pricing, sales, demand, conversion, and customer behavior to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
  • Develop data-driven pricing recommendations across brands, categories, products, and channels.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new products, seasonal products, promotions, and different stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and enhance pricing models that incorporate historical sales, customer behavior, competitive pricing, promotions, seasonality, inventory, and other relevant variables.
  • Apply AI and machine learning to identify relationships and demand patterns across price, conversion, customer segments, promotions, and profitability.
  • Evaluate the expected revenue, margin, conversion, and demand impact of proposed pricing changes and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Design and analyze pricing experiments and A/B tests to measure customer response and quantify the incremental revenue and margin impact of pricing changes.
  • Partner with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, Finance, and other teams to implement, evaluate, and optimize pricing strategies.

Competitive Price Monitoring

  • Monitor competitor prices, promotions, discounts, and product assortment across major online marketplaces and ecommerce websites.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate competitive pricing analysis, including the collection, classification, normalization, and interpretation of competitor pricing data.
  • Identify products where company pricing is significantly above or below the competitive market and assess the potential business impact.
  • Analyze competitor price changes and market trends to identify potential pricing opportunities and risks.
  • Recommend appropriate responses to significant competitor price changes and shifts in market positioning.
  • Build and maintain competitive pricing dashboards, reporting, and automated alerts to provide ongoing visibility into market conditions.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Ecommerce, and other stakeholders to incorporate competitive intelligence into pricing decisions.

Pricing Analytics

  • Analyze historical pricing and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and key drivers of pricing performance.
  • Measure price elasticity and customer demand response to support pricing optimization.
  • Develop analytical models and scenario analyses to evaluate the potential revenue, margin, and demand impact of pricing decisions.
  • Build analytical tools and dashboards that enable stakeholders to evaluate pricing performance and simulate pricing scenarios.
  • Monitor pricing performance and investigate anomalies, outliers, and unexpected changes in revenue, margin, demand, conversion, or elasticity.
  • Develop automated monitoring and alerting to proactively identify significant changes in pricing performance, demand, and customer behavior.
  • Leverage generative AI to automate recurring analysis, summarize findings, identify key business drivers, and accelerate the development of actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual pricing processes through AI, machine learning, and intelligent workflows.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities and identify practical applications that improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of pricing analytics.

Requirements

What You Should Have
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 4-7+ years of experience in pricing analytics, e-commerce analytics, revenue management, merchandising analytics, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate data analysis, SQL development, modeling, research, and reporting.
  • Understanding of predictive modeling, price elasticity, demand modeling, or optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with large datasets and analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, Python, R, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical and AI-driven insights into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce metrics, customer behavior, pricing psychology, and profitability.
  • Strong understanding of statistics and A/B testing.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office environment with low to moderate noise levels.

  • Position requires regular, continuous use of computer.
  • Position requires regular sitting and standing.
  • Position requires regular interaction with team members through the following methods: in-person, phone, WebEx, Zoom, or email.
  • May require occasional travel.
  • This is a hybrid position; employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option of working remotely two days (Wednesday and Friday).

Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000 annual salary.
