Title: Sr. North America Distribution Operations Lead

Role Purpose

Lead day-to-day North America distribution operations execution across DCs and 3PLs, ensuring reliable service, cost discipline, and operational stability for retail, DTC, and professional channels.

We are seeking a senior operations lead with deep forward logistics and distribution experience to oversee end-to-end North America distribution operations.

This role is responsible for managing and directing our third-party logistics (3PL) partners to ensure consistent, on-time, and cost-effective fulfillment across all channels. The ideal candidate brings strong operational rigor, a hands-on operator mindset, and a proven ability to hold external partners accountable while scaling reliable distribution performance across a complex North American network.

Scope & Scale

  • Revenue supported: $1–2B NA
  • Distribution spend influenced: $40–50M
  • Network: 1–3 DCs (3PL-heavy)
  • Channels: B2B, e-commerce
  • Team: Indirect (via 3PLs)

Key Responsibilities

1. Distribution Operations Execution (Core)

  • Own daily DC operations performance: receiving, storage, pick/pack/ship
  • Deliver OTIF, order cycle time, throughput, and accuracy
  • Manage 3PL partners to SLAs, KPIs, and cost commitments
  • Ensure operational readiness for peaks, launches, and promotions
  • If product doesn’t ship correctly and on time, this role owns it.

2. Cost & Productivity Control

  • Manage warehousing & DC ops costs against plan
  • Drive  labor productivity, utilization, and cost per unit
  • Eliminate waste: re-handling, poor slotting, split shipments
  • Partner with Transportation on outbound execution discipline
  • This role protects margin through operational rigor.

3. Network Stability & Capacity

  • Monitor capacity vs demand and escalate risks early
  • Support network changes: volume shifts, new SKUs, DC adds/exits
  • Execute automation, layout, and process improvements
  • Maintain operational continuity during disruptions

4. DTC & Channel Fulfillment

  • Execute channel-appropriate service levels
  • Support premium customer experience without uncontrolled cost
  • Work with Commercial, CX, and Finance on service trade-offs
  • Ensure accessory and small-parcel fulfillment doesn’t erode margin quietly

5. Safety, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure safety, battery handling, and environmental compliance in DCs
  • Maintain audit-ready operations (SOX, EPC, customs interface)
  • Enforce SOPs and corrective actions

Success Metrics

  • OTIF / Perfect Order Rate
  • Order Cycle Time
  • DC Ops Cost % of Sales
  • Cost per Unit Shipped
  • Labor Productivity
  • Peak performance vs plan
  • Safety & compliance metrics

Leadership Expectations

  • Strong operator mindset
  • Comfortable holding 3PLs accountable
  • Data-driven, financially literate
  • Clear communicator under pressure
  • Escalates early and constructively

Experience & Profile

  • 5-7 years in distribution / fulfillment operations or relevant experience
  • Experience running DCs or large 3PL operations
  • Omnichannel exposure (retail + DTC)
  • Strong operational and financial discipline
  • Proven ability to execute change, not just manage status quo
  • Automotive Operations experience a plus

Lead global marketing strategy and execution for Tech Licensing and B2B, driving partner/co-marketing, brand stewardship, PR, events, sales enablement, and building a high-performing team to scale Boses enterprise licensing business.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
