Senior Director, Sales, North America
Position Summary:
As Senior Director, Commercial for Americas at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will lead commercial activities in North America, ensuring flawless execution of our growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the North American commercial team in successfully implementing strategic growth initiatives and commercial activities.
- Develop and implement the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy to support divisional AOP and STRAP.
- Collaborate across functions such as Service Management, Customer Services, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain to improve customer value.
- Foster and strengthen high-level customer relationships, serving as a point of contact for any concerns raised by our partners and representing Thermo Fisher Scientific in senior-level discussions.
- Align actions and processes across local, regional, and global teams to improve customer happiness and achieve a world-class Customer Allegiance Score (CAS).
- Attract, develop, and retain talent while building an effective leadership succession pipeline.
- Foster an inclusive environment that drives employee engagement measured by the Employee Involvement Survey (EIS).
Qualifications
Education:
- Four-year degree in a relevant field (business or life sciences).
Experience:
- At least 10 years of proven experience in a commercial sales or marketing management role, preferably within the Life Sciences industry.
- Relevant experience in managing business functions with a minimum of 5 years of P&L general management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in driving growth and share gain in a large, complex business through direct and indirect sales channels.
- In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of financial and business operations with proven ability to drive margin expansion and operational improvements.
- Ability to develop creative growth strategies and guide successful execution.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead employees to achieve performance objectives.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a multi-divisional matrix organization.
- Possessing a strong determination and a focus on achieving desired results.
- Strong communication ability across various levels within the organization and with external collaborators.
