Position Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Director of Product Marketing to lead the high performance Product Marketing Team at ExtraHop.

Security operations are being rebuilt around AI agents, and the industry has not yet agreed on what those agents should be trusted to do. ExtraHop is at the center of that question. In August 2026, CEO Greg Clark and 15 founding technology partners launched the Agentic SOC Alliance to define an open architecture for machine-speed defense, built on three layers: Context, Harness and Model. ExtraHop owns Context, the evidence layer that everything downstream depends on.

That is the story this leader gets to tell, and it is a rare one. Most product marketing roles are about differentiating inside a category that someone else defined. This one is about helping define the category while the market is still forming its language for it.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior Director of Product Marketing owns how ExtraHop is understood in the market: the positioning, the messaging architecture, the competitive narrative, and the go-to-market motion behind every launch. You will lead and grow the product marketing team, partner closely with Product Management, Corporate Marketing, Field Marketing and Sales, and serve as a public voice for the company with customers, analysts and press.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire the product marketing function with 3 direct reports, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to achieving business objectives.
  •  Own the positioning and messaging architecture for the full portfolio
  • Own launch strategy and end to end launch execution in collaboration with Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and Operations.
  • Empower the sales and partner ecosystem with clear, persuasive tools and training that communicate ExtraHop’s value proposition and drive revenue growth.
  • Develop impactful sales collateral, presentations, playbooks and product demonstrations tailored to resonate with enterprise customers.
  • In collaboration with Corporate marketing, create high-quality, engaging content that drives thought leadership, customer engagement, and demand generation, including white papers, blogs, case studies, webinars, and more.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to uncover trends, buyer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Work closely with the broader marketing team to design and execute integrated marketing campaigns that align with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and spokesperson for ExtraHop to executive meetings, customer engagements, and industry events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, with 5+ years of leadership experience in B2B enterprise technology marketing.
  • Deep expertise in cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud, and IT infrastructure markets, with a proven ability to market to technical and security-focused personas.
  • Demonstrated success in building and executing integrated product marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of conducting competitive market analysis and using data-driven insights to craft winning positioning strategies.
  • Outstanding writing, communication, and presentation skills with a talent for creating content that engages both technical and business decision-makers.
  • Experience working with and influencing senior executives, stakeholders, and partners to align marketing initiatives with business objectives.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and drive multiple initiatives to completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to support sales, events, and key customer engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the network-based cybersecurity market with demonstrable knowledge of the key vendors
  • Experience marketing AI or agentic products, particularly where trust, explainability and autonomy are part of the buying conversation.
  • Experience inside a company going through category creation or category redefinition
  • Proven track record of 5+ years of Product Marketing leadership
  • Held responsibility for the execution of multiple product launches within the cybersecurity space

Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic thinking and market intelligence
  • Go-to-Market strategy and execution
  • Positioning, messaging and storytelling
  • Sales enablement and customer engagement
  • Cross-functional leadership and influence

The salary range for this role is $245,000 - $264,000 + bonus + benefits

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
