As part of the Science 37 team, you will devise, develop, and deliver comprehensive patient recruitment strategies in order to ensure all recruitment goals are met. A key role within Patient Affairs, the Director will stay abreast of developing trends in the industry, enabling continuous improvement and excellence at all levels of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets and oversees the execution of an ambitious and comprehensive recruitment strategy roadmap and trial specific recruitment plan for trials recruitment
  • Responsible for delivering on time, on budget and on scope, book of work to drive business performance and achieve performance targets specifically related to clinical trial recruitment
  • Provides a launch and full life cycle strategy to include: overall content strategy input, platform recommendations, budget/bid recommendations, image and content
  • Responsible for working with key stakeholders including Director of Patient Engagement, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, and Media & Marketing teams to develop content to support clinical trial recruitment. This includes but is not limited to: landing pages, emails to potential clinical trial participants, surveys, upcoming trial announcements to relevant populations, ads for IRB approval, scripts and talking points for physician to physician connections, and pre-trial screeners
  • Responsible for working with Product Team and Tech Team to scope out and implement necessary trial specific platform and CRM enhancements to provide best in class application support for clinical trial participants and data analysis
  • Manages team members who follow industry best practices for keyword bidding management and optimization, search engine optimization, social media excellence, producing engaging shareable content, and more
  • Responsible for managing team to revise/refine campaign plans over the course of the campaign and based on performance to continually improve and drive efficiencies throughout the campaign
  • Work with Director of Patient Engagement to execute and monitor digital media plans to ensure high level of clinical trial recruitment. This will include any social media campaigns that can leverage existing relationship with Advocacy groups
  • Responsible for analysis of user acquisition, A/B testing, channel and web performance relating to patient
  • Produces weekly and monthly reporting for clinical operations
  • Stays current on leading industry trends that will impact strategies in trial recruitment and effectively applies knowledge
  • Researches, develops and implements new methods to leverage social media/social advertising for trial recruitment
  • Works with Director of Patient Engagement to listen and interpret the voice of patients as customers which translates into successful clinical trial This includes the development of robust patient personas for each trial, and will include comprehensive prevalence mapping, and behavior profile mapping of patient personas. Establish persona/behavior framework that can be applied for all clinical trials
  • Responsible for selecting and directing agencies and vendors for advancing clinical trial recruitment, as needed
  • Works with partners, consultants, and vendors, ensuring high levels of performance, excellent communication and delivery for clinical trial recruitment strategies
  • Builds an internal culture of innovative thinking that leads to the development and implementation of the company's patient recruitment mission and works with internal and external teams to evaluate and integrate innovative technologies for the successful acquisition of research
  • Works collaboratively with other department heads as an advisor for communication related to clinical trial recruitment
  • Effectively communicates the recruitment strategy to executive management, senior leadership and team
  • Conducts performance reviews, calibration sessions and feedback discussions for direct reports. Performs competency assessments across his/her team, and implements and monitors development plans with direct reports
  • Oversees and mentors and/or assists in coaching and training departmental team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant recruitment experience with clinical trials
  • Knowledge and work experience in clinical trial and pharmaceutical industries
  • Demonstrated high degree of leadership skills that allow the individual to influence all levels of the organization and make positive change
  • Proven expertise in translating insight into patient centered campaign that delivers high quality leads to clinical trials
  • Proven track record of delivering results and meeting targets
  • Proven competency to foster an operations team infused with motivation, collaboration and productivity
