The Sr. Director, Human Resources will lead Viant’s core people operations, employee relations, and learning & development functions. This role is a senior people leader responsible for managing and developing HR and L&D teams, driving operational rigor, and supporting the company through growth, change, and transformation. This role will blend both hands on execution and large scale strategy .
THE DAY-TO-DAY- Lead and develop teams across Employee Relations, HR Operations, and Learning & Development; provide oversight of Benefits through established processes and partners.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex employee relations matters, partnering with Legal and executive leadership to drive fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
- Provide oversight of learning & development initiatives, including onboarding, manager development, leadership training, and career growth programs in close partnership with L&D leadership.
- Drive HR operational excellence by scaling policies, processes, and systems to support a growing, multi-state organization.
- Play a key role in M&A activity, including HR due diligence, integration planning, change management, and post-close execution.
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and leadership capability.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, particularly in a public-company and multi-jurisdiction environment.
- Use people data, operational metrics, and learning outcomes to inform decisions and continuously improve HR and L&D programs.
- Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and other People leaders to deliver a cohesive employee experience.
- 12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with deep expertise in Employee Relations and HR Operations.
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing people managers and teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR compliance across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, classification, compensation, performance management, leaves, and separations.
- Proven experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including HR diligence, integration, and change management.
- Strong working knowledge of benefits administration, with the ability to provide effective oversight without day-to-day ownership.
- Proven ability to scale HR and L&D infrastructure in a fast-growing, complex organization.
- Experience operating in a public company, tech, SaaS, or ad tech environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
