Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain Optimization

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director of Supply Chain Optimization is accountable for designing, deploying, and scaling supply chain capabilities, processes, and enabling systems across Ichor's global organization. This role serves as the architect and custodian of supply chain discipline, ensuring that best practices, technology investments, and process standards drive competitive advantage and operational scalability. The Director leads the transformation from individual expertise to institutional capability—converting tacit knowledge into explicit standard work, and building the organizational learning infrastructure required to sustain growth beyond $3B.

The position is both strategic and operational, bridging executive leadership with functional supply chain teams. This includes governing the procurement and supply chain technology roadmap, establishing global metrics and performance standards, designing and deploying continuous improvement methodologies, and leading cross-functional projects that reshape how the supply chain organization operates across all divisions and geographies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Learning and Capability Development

Design and operate a Center of Excellence function that systematically converts individual expertise into scalable, documented standard work and training curricula with the direct support of dedicated subject matter experts.  Own the architecture for capturing and disseminating best practices across procurement, supplier management, and customer supply chain functions.

Lead the development and deployment of global training and certification programs for procurement professionals, commodity managers, material program managers, and supply chain specialists. Establish competency frameworks and career development pathways that create advancement clarity and technical depth within the supply chain organization.

Architect and manage a structured knowledge repository—digital and process-based—that preserves institutional memory and enables rapid onboarding, consistency, and compliance across new geographies and acquisitions. Ensure that Ichor's supply chain methodologies and playbooks survive team transitions and scale without degradation of quality.

Establish a continuous improvement discipline that identifies, tests, and scales supply chain process innovations. Partner with functional leaders to define and measure the impact of process improvements, ensuring that optimization efforts compound over time rather than reverting to prior practices.

Technology Roadmap and Digital Enablement

Lead the definition, prioritization, and execution of the global procurement and supply chain technology roadmap. Serve as the primary executive voice for supply chain technology strategy and the primary interface with IT, Finance, and Operations on investment decisions, implementation prioritization, and post-deployment optimization.

Own the procurement systems architecture, including Oracle Fusion Cloud configuration, enterprise analytics and BI capabilities, supplier portal governance, and AI/machine learning initiatives that enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making. Partner with IT to ensure ERP integrity, data governance, and system performance support operational requirements and future-state capability.

Drive the deployment of AI and advanced analytics capabilities within procurement and supply chain functions, including demand signal quality, supplier risk intelligence, Clear-to-Build misalignment detection, supply constraint forecasting, and autonomous exception management. Establish governance frameworks for AI-driven decisions and maintain human oversight where required.

Define technology adoption standards and change management protocols to ensure new tools and platforms enhance rather than disrupt operational consistency. Lead post-implementation optimization and user enablement to realize the intended return on technology investment.

Global Process Standards and MRP/CTB Governance

Design and maintain a global procurement operations standard that ensures consistency, compliance, and efficiency across all geographies, divisions, and supplier relationships. Define standard work for sourcing processes, RFQ execution, supplier onboarding, contract lifecycle management, purchase order accuracy, and performance monitoring.

Own global standard costs and the annual standard cost roll, ensuring that product costs are accurately reflected in ERP, that burden rates are consistently applied, and that cost data drives procurement, make/buy, and pricing decisions with reliability.

Oversee the global MRP policy framework that governs order modifiers, safety stock strategy, lead time accuracy, demand signal handling, and inventory planning parameters. Serve as the executive voice for MRP configuration governance, ensuring policy changes are cross-functionally aligned and implemented with consistent discipline.

Global Metrics, Reporting, and Performance Management

Define and govern the global supply chain scorecard—the set of metrics that measure procurement effectiveness, supplier performance, material readiness, cost control, and supply chain resilience. Ensure metrics are leading indicators that predict supply chain health and enable course correction before disruption occurs.

Establish a hierarchical reporting architecture that cascades metrics from global executive level through regional and functional leader levels, with clear ownership, frequency, and escalation paths. Ensure visibility is granular enough for operational control but aggregated enough for strategic decision-making.

Lead quarterly and annual supply chain business reviews with the VP, CFO, and executive leadership, translating supply chain performance into business impact and articulating strategic recommendations for sourcing, supplier relationships, inventory management, and organizational capability investments.

Define and monitor supplier performance metrics, cost trends, quality indicators, and delivery performance that inform supplier management decisions, development plans, and commercial negotiations. Ensure that supplier scorecards are transparent to suppliers and drive proactive performance management rather than reactive escalation.

Cross-Functional Strategic Leadership

Serve as the key person for major supply chain transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations, shared services scaling, procurement process redesign, and organizational restructuring. Own the change management, adoption tracking, and benefit realization for these programs.

Support M&A activity by designing supply chain due diligence protocols, defining post-merger integration roadmaps, and ensuring newly acquired operations are brought into alignment with Ichor's supply chain standards and systems within defined timelines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement operations, or supply chain optimization experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role defining processes, standards, and organizational capability.
• Demonstrated expertise in supply chain process design, business process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent), and organizational change management.
• Strong background with procurement systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and supply chain analytics platforms. Experience with cloud-based ERP implementations (Oracle Fusion, SAP, or equivalent) is highly valued.
• Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives, technology deployments, and organizational transformations in complex, multi-division supply chain environments.
• Experience designing and scaling shared services, training programs, and center of excellence functions in large or growing organizations.
• Strong executive communication skills with ability to translate complex supply chain operations into business impact and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with data analytics, metrics development, and performance management; comfort with AI and advanced analytics concepts in supply chain applications.
• Experience in or adjacent to semiconductor equipment, precision manufacturing, or high-complexity supply chain environments is strongly preferred.
