Reports to: VP Global Marketing - HOKA
Location:  Remote - West Coast preferred (LA, Santa Barbara, or Portland, OR)

Senior Director of Global Sports Marketing will lead our worldwide sports marketing initiatives. In this role, you will drive the development and execution of comprehensive sports marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, elevate athlete partnerships, and strengthen HOKA’s global presence in the sports industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create impactful campaigns that resonate with athletes, consumers and in culture around the world while amplifying our brand message and strengthening our position in the market.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Build Global Sports Marketing Strategy:

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of integrated global sports marketing plans aligned with HOKA’s brand vision and business objectives.
  • Attract and retain athletes that power HOKA’s priority areas of focus including Road Running, Track and Field and Trail.  

Foster Athlete and Team Partnerships:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with top athletes, teams, and sports federations globally to enhance HOKA’s brand visibility and credibility.
  • Deliver best in class athlete services and negotiate and oversee endorsement contracts and partnerships that align with HOKA’s brand values and audiences.

Campaign Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with global marketing, creative, and digital teams to develop and execute integrated sports marketing campaigns that drive global brand awareness, engagement, and sales.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the global sports marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Be a steward for DEI internally and across our athlete roster.
  • Mentor and develop team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential and contribute to HOKA’s overall success.
  • Guide and inspire regional counterparts to execute global sports marketing vision and strategies.

Who You Are

Strong marketing leader who’s known for inspiring teams with optimism, passion and vision. Strategic, artful negotiator and relationship builder who has a love for sport and building iconic brands.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sports marketing, with specialty in the running world, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a global sports brand or related industry.
  • Global Perspective: Strong understanding of international markets, cultural nuances, and global sports trends.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the sports industry and running landscape, trends, key stakeholders, and consumer behaviors. Includes understanding and experience at the intersection of sport and global culture.
  • Strategic Vision: Proven ability to develop and execute global sports marketing strategies that drive brand growth, market share and cultural relevance.
  • Relationship Management: Established network of relationships with international athletes, sports teams, federations, and industry influencers.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders across diverse cultures and regions.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and ROI measurement.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

$230,000 - $250,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary for your preferred location during the hiring process.
