Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Research and Advisory sector, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional and global levels.

The role will be responsible for helping CIOs and AI Leaders  to discover, assess and effectively respond to emerging AI technologies and trends  and create or evolve highly successful products and services that integrate AI. The applicant must be ready to monitor the latest trends to keep up with the pace of AI innovation. Successful candidates will have a background in research & development, product development, or product and services strategy and engineering. Experience with the development of products and services that deliver AI, and the ability to connect AI to financial value  is critical.

Who you are:

Successful candidates will have an expert understanding of the following key areas:

  • Differentiation strategies for AI enabled products and services: Identifying differentiating factors across product or service features/capabilities; identifying the primary use cases for the AIand estimating the value they deliver to customers and enterprises via user value, business value, route to market and firmographics estimation and analysis. Inclusive of best practices to communicate value to stakeholders and prospects.
  • The underlying economics that determines when and how to invest in AI: Early-stage technology investment strategies and prioritization; defining the revenue opportunities, unit economics and profitability, managing and valuing intellectual property, cannibalization risk and pricing models associated with the AI
  • The monetizable opportunities associated with AI: The most successful methods to assess potential monetizable value from AI innovations, product portfolio prioritization, new product/service introductions and augmentation of existing products/services.
  • Scenario planning and forecasting AI future trends: Experience forecasting both business and economic impacts of AI beyond the enterprise in the great marketplace.

What you will do:

  • Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content, both through traditional methods and utilizing current AI based tools and methodologies.
  • Master and conduct primary research that either case-based research by speaking with senior executives, academics, industry experts, etc., quantitative research such as surveys,  and  secondary research  as appropriate.
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions
  • Create and deliver high value presentation materials on and off stage for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
  • Support Research and Sales: Provide sales support serving as voice of the market to help research teams create content and to drive engagement with clients to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business
  • Provide high quality and timely research content peer review
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the research community

What you'll need:

  • 12 + years of experience in Information Technology and or business leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  • Experience with scenario planning and forecasting AI future trends preferred
  • Direct experience working in Research and Development, Product or Service Engineering at a strategic level developing and launching products and services that use Emerging Technologies. Strong appetite to dive deep into AI  to develop expertise and distil key findings.
  • Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability, and ability to use AI tools
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Strong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply, who is  comfortable presenting at large and small-scale audiences
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 152,000 USD - 190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
