We’re seeking a talented Senior Copywriter to join our Institutional Division Marketing team working from our office in either Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.

The Senior Copywriter will be a part of the Product Marketing team, a dynamic and growing team that sits within the Institutional Marketing Department. You will work with team members throughout the division including Senior Leadership, Product and National Markets. You will play a pivotal role in helping develop our messaging, establishing our tone of voice, and ensuring our content resonates with our target audiences. You will also serve as editor/proofreader to ensure content is accurate, consistent and high-quality. You will develop public relations materials, work with product marketers to develop content for collateral, digital, and video, and help create concepts and messaging for marketing and thought leadership campaigns.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Coordinate and write copy for public relations materials such as press releases, articles, blogs, social media posts and our website.
  • Help create and edit copy for print and digital marketing communication projects directed to current and prospective customers in the institutional market (e.g. digital newsletters, emails, brochures, thought leadership content, video scripts, and advertising)
  • Translate complex concepts into consumer-friendly terms
  • Think creatively to help us stand out in market, while staying true to our brand.
  • Work closely with and alongside designers, art directors and marketers and ensure writing follows compliance guidelines
  • Value research and use insights to inspire
  • Write, proofread, and edit original copy for projects requested by marketing associates and other internal clients
  • Create and maintain a copy style guide to help guide the division in terms of tone of voice, style and the correct usage of terminology.
  • Proofread and sign off on copy prior to final distribution of marketing materials
  • Adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, presentation and leadership skills

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years' experience immersed in writing copy for financial services (you may be asked to provide examples)
  • Advanced experience in writing copy for social ads and short-form content and familiarity with writing keyword rich content for SEO
  • Advanced experience writing press release copy and blogs, articles.

  • Ability to deliver messaging in a new and compelling way
  • Strong financial services industry and/or insurance industry knowledge, particularly retirement income products
  • Experience writing for video; podcasts, story-driven videos, explainer videos
  • Experience writing/editing academic or research-oriented papers and determining how to communicate key insights
  • Creative writing experience

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$91,350.00 - $111,650.00
