Company Description:

Sagetap is a rapidly growing startup changing how enterprise technology executives discover and evaluate software. Our AI-driven platform anonymously connects tech buyers with the industry’s most credible technology vendors, helping them cut through the noise and solve their biggest problems.

Backed by investors like NFX Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, we are on a mission to fundamentally change software discovery for senior technology leaders and foster meaningful connections in a non-sales setting.

We’re a tight-knit, fast-moving team that values curiosity, transparency, and impact. If you’re energetic, results-oriented, and excited to work in an early-stage environment, come help us shape the future of technology buying at Sagetap!

Job Description:

At Sagetap, content isn’t just marketing — it defines our category.

As our Sr. Content Strategist, you will architect Sagetap’s narrative across brand, product, and growth. You won’t just create content — you will define the messaging frameworks, positioning strategy, and editorial direction that establish Sagetap as the authoritative voice in enterprise software discovery.

This is a strategic role first and an execution role second.

You will partner closely with Growth, Product, and Leadership to translate complex enterprise AI and security dynamics into compelling, differentiated narratives. You will shape how we speak to CIOs, CISOs, and senior technology leaders — ensuring every touchpoint (website, product, lifecycle emails, reports, social, and announcements) reinforces a cohesive and powerful point of view.

Your work will influence acquisition, activation, retention, and brand perception.

What You Will Do:Define Narrative & Positioning
  • Own Sagetap’s messaging architecture and positioning

  • Develop core value propositions for different executive personas

  • Translate product features into clear marketplace narratives

  • Establish tone, voice, and editorial standards across all channels

Architect Content Strategy
  • Build and own the long-form editorial roadmap (reports, insights, thought leadership)

  • Identify key themes that position Sagetap as a category-defining marketplace

  • Align content strategy to growth objectives (acquisition, activation, retention)

  • Develop repeatable content frameworks that scale

Connect Brand to Product
  • Shape onboarding messaging, lifecycle emails, and activation copy

  • Partner with Product on launches and feature storytelling

  • Support Growth experiments with strategic messaging direction

  • Ensure consistency across website, email, and in-product surfaces

Lead High-Impact Content Creation
  • Write flagship thought leadership pieces and data-driven insights

  • Oversee production of reports, executive briefs, and strategic content assets

  • Collaborate with designers and external contributors where needed

  • Elevate the CEO and leadership voice with strategic content direction

Measure & Refine Impact
  • Define content performance metrics beyond vanity engagement

  • Connect content to acquisition, activation, and retention outcomes

  • Continuously refine narrative based on market response and executive feedback

What We’re Looking For:

5–8+ Years of Strategic Content Experience: Experience owning positioning and narrative in B2B, SaaS, or enterprise environments.

Exceptional Narrative & Messaging Skills: You can distill complex enterprise AI and security concepts into sharp, differentiated positioning.

Strategic Thinker: You think in frameworks, categories, and market perception — not just posts and campaigns.

Product & Growth Alignment: You understand how content supports acquisition, activation, and retention.

Executive Audience Fluency: You are comfortable writing for senior technology leaders (CIO, CISO, CTO level).

Highly Collaborative: Able to work cross-functionally with Growth, Product, and Leadership.

Data-Informed: You connect narrative decisions to measurable business outcomes.

Additional Information:

Remote-Friendly: This role can be performed from anywhere. Our distributed team primarily collaborates across US time zones, so US-based applicants are preferred.

Tools & Collaboration: We use Slack, Zoom, and other platforms to maintain a culture of open communication and collaboration, no matter your location.

Work-Life Balance: Work hard and be flexible and in turn, enjoy a flexible schedule in an environment that values productivity and personal well-being.

What you will have at Sagetap:
  • Early-stage stock options

  • Competitive salary and 401(k) with company matching

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits for employees and qualifying dependents

  • Flexible work schedule with generous vacation and Holiday policy

  • Professional development and career growth

  • Experience building and scaling a transformative marketplace

  • Ability to learn from some of the smartest people in the industry

Diversity drives innovation, enables better decisions to support our customers, and inspires change for the better. We’re building a culture where differences are valued and welcomed. We work together to bring out the best in each other. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which the candidate is applying.

If you’re ready to define the narrative for how enterprise leaders discover transformative technology, we’d love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
