The Role

We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Senior Compensation Analyst to support our people strategies through the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs nationwide. This role requires a hands-on professional who can dive deep into compensation and market data, assess internal equity and competitiveness, and translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate will not only report what the data shows but explain why it matters — and partner with HR, Finance, and senior leaders to ensure pay practices that are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with our compensation philosophy.

What You Will Do

Compensation Programs & Structure

  • Administer and maintain company compensation programs, salary structures, and job architecture, including design and development initiatives.

  • Support maintenance of salary grades, salary ranges, and market pricing databases.

  • Design and support bonus, commission, and variable pay plans.

  • Support annual merit and bonus planning processes.

Market Analysis & Job Evaluation

  • Conduct external market analyses and pricing using compensation survey data and industry benchmarks.

  • Evaluate positions and support job description reviews, job leveling, and internal equity assessments.

  • Monitor labor market and emerging trends, ensuring compensation actions align with established guidelines, budgets, and compensation philosophy.

Pay Equity & Compensation Recommendations

  • Conduct pay equity and compression analyses to identify potential risks or inconsistencies.

  • Support salary offer development and compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.

  • Ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices across a multi-state workforce.

Advisory & Business Partnership

  • Serve as an internal consultant to HR and senior leadership on all things compensation, developing insights to support organizational design and workforce planning.

  • Serve as resident subject matter expert, educating the business on Total Rewards, pay transparency, wage reporting, and equal pay initiatives.

  • Support Benefits and Union programs as needed.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze compensation data and prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for HR leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to improve the quality and efficiency of compensation analysis and reporting.

  • Other responsibilities and assignments as identified or assigned.

What It Takes To Be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in Compensation, Finance, Consulting, or a similar analytical discipline.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, modeling, reporting, and data validation.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills with the ability to apply critical thinking to complex compensation issues.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex data and compensation concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve the quality and efficiency of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and compensation analysis.

  • Experience supporting large, multi-state, multi-site organizations.

  • Experience with HRIS, HCM, and compensation management systems (Workday and NetSuite preferred).

  • Experience with compensation survey tools such as Salary.com CompAnalyst, Mercer, Radford, or WorldatWork.

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar designation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
