Esri’s ArcGIS Online hosted services allow our users to expose a map or dataset on the web without having their own GIS server. As a Software Engineer, you’ll help build next-generation, innovative services. You'll have the opportunity to solve problems with distributed systems and develop web services while leveraging and strengthening your C#/.NET skills. As you do this, you'll work alongside teammates who are dedicated to bringing excellent software to Esri's users and collaborating with one another to ensure things get done.

Responsibilities

  • Create web services components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models
  • Assist in bringing excellent software to the ArcGIS platform
  • Work closely with other developers to design and develop quality APIs that scale to millions of users
  • Write comprehensive technical design specifications and support documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience in C# and .NET
  • Deep understanding of the web and protocols
  • Working knowledge of SQL with experience in ASP.NET and Entity Framework
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, Amazon Web Services) and NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful web services, distributed systems, and cloud computing
  • Experience with IIS (Internet Information Services) web server software packages
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies (Scrum)
  • Good communication skills to effectively convey technical challenges and discuss solutions
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technology field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins/Travis/CircleCI)
  • Master’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technology field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$118,976$197,600 USD
