Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

Job Summary

As part of the Music Supply Chain Technology team, you will join a group of passionate and innovative technologists building scalable platforms and business-critical solutions that power the end-to-end music ecosystem. Our teams solve complex engineering and operational challenges across repertoire management, planning and distribution, licensing, publishing, sales, and music royalty processing in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Senior Business Product Manager II to lead a portfolio of products across music supply chain repertoire, planning & distribution, pitch & licensing and business analytics. This role is responsible for defining product vision, driving cross-functional execution, and delivering measurable business impact at scale.

The ideal candidate combines deep product expertise with strong leadership, market insight, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making. This individual is recognized as a trusted product leader and thought partner who influences organizational priorities, mentors other Product Managers, and drives innovation across teams.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of products or strategic product area.
  • Lead end-to-end product development from ideation through launch and optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, data engineering, UX, QA, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable product solutions.
  • Drive prioritization and execution of product initiatives based on customer impact, business value, risk, and ROI.
  • Translate business and stakeholder needs into clear product, platform, and data pipeline requirements.
  • Write detailed and testable requirements including source-to-target mappings, validation rules, SLA targets, monitoring requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on modern data architecture concepts including batch, streaming, event-driven, push/pull ingestion patterns, and cloud-based data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, and Airflow.
  • Define requirements for data quality, freshness, completeness, observability, reconciliation, alerting, and operational reliability.
  • Manage external dependencies including APIs, schema changes, integrations, and third-party platforms.
  • Analyze product performance, operational metrics, customer behavior, and KPIs to drive data-informed decisions and strategic recommendations.
  • Anticipate and mitigate operational risks including schema drift, late-arriving data, dependency failures, and pipeline reliability concerns.
  • Lead Agile product management practices including roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive partners through strong communication, storytelling, and strategic alignment.
  • Mentor and coach Product Managers while serving as a subject matter expert and product leader within the organization.
  • Continuously improve processes, operational efficiency, and the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality products at scale.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience, preferably within digital and/or mobile platforms
  • Strong product acumen with deep platform knowledge and technical fluency
  • Proven track record of building, launching, and scaling products that deliver business value and align with organizational mission
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work autonomously under tight timelines while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate objectives, progress, risks, and outcomes to diverse audiences
  • Strong research capabilities, translating insights into actionable recommendations or alternative solutions
  • Expertise in problem discovery, definition, and validation
  • Demonstrated ability to define, own, and execute product roadmaps
  • Solid understanding of business modeling and financial analysis, including structured cost-benefit assessments
  • Proficiency in writing, prioritizing, and refining user stories and product requirements
  • Ability to adapt quickly and pivot effectively as business strategies and product priorities evolve
  • Clear understanding of modern development processes, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
  • Extensive experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, and other stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, delivering creative and high-quality solutions to complex digital challenges
  • Proven ability to drive successful execution through collaboration, influence, and product evangelization
  • Deep understanding of how to leverage technology to deliver innovative, scalable solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the media and entertainment industry
  • Strong passion for and interest in Disney brands and storytelling
  • Solid understanding of media production workflows, digital video pipelines, and/or consumer-facing video product features
  • Knowledge of and experience with product management for content rights, licensing, and availability
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

Required Education  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $155,700.00 to $208,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
