Who We Are

At Honest Health, we believe in purpose and partnership to lead the transformation in primary care. Our team of healthcare experts and clinicians collaborates with a range of stakeholders—from health systems, physician organizations, and payers to providers, practices, and patients — to deliver innovative solutions that elevate care, control costs, and support long-term health. Guided by our core values, we’re creating a value-driven model that creates lasting benefits for everyone, now and into the future.

For us, that's just an Honest day’s work.

Your Role

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will partner closely with and support central operational teams (i.e., Finance, Risk Adjustment, Quality and Care Management) as well as market analytics and leadership teams transform complex healthcare data into tools and actionable insights.  This position will perform in-depth and ad-hoc analyses that drive operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of collaborating across key business teams including Finance, IT, and Clinical Operations. In addition to internal deliverables, you will help prepare partner-facing presentations, leveraging analytics tools and market-specific knowledge to translate data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to story-tell with data: describing cost of care drivers, diagnosing root causes, and prescribing action items for better health outcomes at lower costs.  As a Sr. Analyst on the Analytics team, you will serve as a resource for your colleagues and organizational leaders.

Primary Functions of the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst Include:
  • Support all core disciplines of Honest’s business (i.e., Medical Expense Management, Risk Adjustment/Clinical Documentation Integrity, Quality and Care Management) and be a resource for other colleagues and leaders. Specific expertise in one or more of these disciplines will be a focus depending on organizational needs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Honest Health’s data assets and analytics product inventory as it relates to strategic decision-making, problem-solving and generation of actionable insights.
  • Serve as the core analytics partner for the assigned primary discipline(s), translating business needs and opportunities into data-informed insights and actionable, decision support tools.
  • Lead end-to-end development of dashboards, tools, and analyses with minimal direction, ensuring outputs meet the needs of multiple business stakeholders.
  • Integrate and analyze data from diverse sources including electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and claims data that are housed in Honest’s electronic data warehouse (EDW) and/or other population health platforms.
  • Leverage expert SQL skills to extract and analyze large, complex data and transform it into informative deliverables, insights, tools, and presentations that clearly communicate trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify relationships in data sets, determine key fields, and independently recommend actionable insights.
  • Manage and prioritize high-complexity ad hoc requests, working across teams to refine problem statements and deliver insights that influence business decisions.
  • Introduce automation, efficiency, and standardization into existing reporting tools and analytic workflows.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and informal mentorship to Business Intelligence Analysts to support their development.
  • Deliver timely, accurate responses to ad hoc requests and proactively surface root causes, trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Serve as a strategic partner through forming and maintaining strong relationships within the Analytics team, with stakeholders across the business – from individual contributors to executive leadership.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to develop and deliver powerful insights through the adoption of new data visualization, advanced business intelligence, and emerging AI-driven tools (and support others in development of these skills)
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of data and its interpretation to support informed decision-making.
  • Exhibit exceptional reliability and follow-through, with the ability to commit to multiple concurrent deadlines and be accountable for updates and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT/Data Engineering to influence data pipeline requirements, table structures, and enhancements needed for analytics.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
